Line & Poise in Ballet
Beautiful ballet begins with clear, elegant line and poised upper body.
Line is the shape you create from head to toe — long legs, lifted torso, stretched arms and a calm, lengthened neck.
Poise is the quiet control in how you hold yourself: shoulders relaxed, chin gently lifted, and movement that feels effortless.
Together, they create that classical, timeless look dancers strive for.
Keep refining your line, keep nurturing your poise, and let your dancing speak with grace. ✨

Can someone let Pam know that her phone is at the studio

Final week of term is here, and we’re excited to welcome parents into the studio from Monday to watch their children’s end‑of‑term classes. It’s a lovely chance to see their progress, confidence, and hard work. We can’t wait to share these moments with you.

🌟 Use of Feet in Ballet 🌟
Strong, articulate feet are essential for beautiful ballet technique. They support balance, help create clean lines, and add expression to every movement.
Here’s what dancers should focus on:
Pointing Through the Foot — Lengthen from the hip, through the knee, ankle, and toes for a fully stretched line.
Articulation — Work through the foot in every tendu, dégagé, and rise to build strength and control.
Use of Toes — Keep toes long, never scrunched, to maintain clarity and avoid tension.
Weight Placement — Centre the weight over the first two metatarsals for stability in rises and turns.
Turnout from the Hips — The feet show turnout, but the rotation must come from the hips for safe technique.
Beautiful feet aren’t just flexible — they’re strong, controlled, and well‑placed.
