King of Kings đź‘‘đź‘‘đź‘‘
Our final award is a special award that is given out originally as our Presidents Award within which they would choose to recognise the contributions of someone off the ice and the impact they have made both to the club and others. The words chosen to recognise this award are: 'who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey'. This was renamed the “King of Kings” award and remains hour highest honour to present this award.

King of Kings 2025-26
Adam Toulson and Tilly Fisher

“Recognising work done by both of them over a number of years now - it would not be fair to acknowledge the significant work done by both of these two – without ensuring this was a joint award.”

“Adam and Tilly have become the bedrock of the club and have taken on board significantly increased roles off the ice and the hours of time and effort that they put into making Kings the growing success that it is today. Whether that is with the work done through the new society, working closely with our sponsors and partners, organising other volunteers, all the time dedicated to making this year’s Learn to Play our biggest on record – or simply just being the ones to answer the questions on a daily basis and keep us moving in the right direction.”

“On behalf of myself and Beth, the personal contributions of the two of them have significantly made our lives easier and we cannot thank them enough for what they have done. Truly we now stand at the point where the vast majority of the club members are here directly because of the work done by Adam and Tilly.”

“I look forward to continuing to build with them on growing this club in the future”

Kings A Team
Players Player
Jasper Malcolm

“To be voted by your team mates as Players Player – I have always seen as the highest of awards that cane be given out. Amongst some standout candidates – Jasper’s name was one which was a landslide victor this year.”

“Coming into the team this year as the new guy – especially into a pretty well established and very close group – is not easy. After his very quiet and reserved start – it has not taken long for JM to really become a huge part of this team on and off the ice.”

“His play on the ice is selfless and team first mentality has really endeared himself to his teammates. Off the ice is where his impact has been huge on this group. When you have a group that has been together for a long time – it is sometimes nice to freshen things up with a new burst of new energy – and Jasper has certainly done that.”

“Very much looking forward to seeing what he brings next year and into the future to both the team and the club as a whole!”

Kings A Team
Coaches Player
Erin Grant

“I am extremely lucky to have an amazing group of players to coach this past season. Making this choice was one of the harder decisions I have had to make during my time here with many deserving candidates. However after a long period of reflection, I kept coming back to the same name.”

“Erin’s growth from when she first came to the club to where she stands now is down to her sheer will and determination. After various cameo appearances, to make the full time step up to the A team this past season was a challenge both physically and mentally. However the way in which Erin has grown into a key part of the team and the group was no more felt than when (due to no fault of her own) she was not there.”

“Erin is someone who can play with anyone and will complement their skills and seamlessly allow others to succeed both with her and around her. That in itself is a skill to be able to do that. Certainly we are a better team and better group when Erin has been a part of it!”

Kings A Team
Nationals MVP
Artem Pavlov

“After such a strong showing by such a small group of players – there was many candidates this could have gone to. There also then sometimes is the bias that should the best player always win ALL the awards. However as decided by his team mates – this truly was the Most Valuable Pavlov Award!”

“There is not much more that can be said about Artem. [INSERT complement here]. Many of you will know that there was questions over his potential health heading into Nationals – but I beg anyone to watch the footage and suggest he isn’t always giving 110%.”

“As I have said many times and probably the best way to describe him is – we are truly lucky to have him as part of our team and club – and we should cherish the time we are lucky enough to have him!”

Kings A Team
Most Improved
Oli Hope

“Around this time last year it became clear that we had an enormous issue – with Patrik moving back home – we were going to be missing the foundation piece in goal for this year.”

“Being brutally honest – Oli playing in goal started as a nice way to give him a change of scenery at some scrimmage sessions - there was no ambitions on this being what it is now. What started as some fun I think has developed into a fairly healthy obsession. What started as a very long shot contingency plan for goaltending for the C / Bs turned into the only logical option. But that sells Oli’s achievements way short – he has earned every bit of success with dedication to turning up and getting better every single day.”

“How far Oli has come from those first sessions – through the summer BUIHA Camp – through the Nottingham Debut – to the Title win and Nationals. I don’t know many who could have done this is such a short space of time. I know he will be the first one getting back on the ice this summer and working towards getting ready for the substantial challenges next year.”

Kings A Team
Best Forward
Dan Caple

“Again another tough choice to make this season – but I kept coming back to my first thought in that this year someone in my eyes finally achieved their potential."

"For me that potential was not in scoring goals or making nice plays – that has always been there. But this year Dan finally unlocked his next set of skills which is not only playing at a high level himself – but elevating those around him and making them all better players. Sometimes making the right play for the team – not what is best for Dan”

“As someone who has always seen that in Dan – to see the success he has had for us this year but also the growth from playing for the Bucs as well – I am looking forward to seeing what he does next!”

Kings A Team
Best Defender
Artem Pavlov

“With the size of our regular roster this year this was a tough choice as everyone contributed in their own way – including players who were called up to help. However again my mind kept coming back to the same thing time and time again – it has to be Artem!”

“Artem is a leader for us – and that starts at the back. I think most people watch him play – see the goals – the hits – the highlight reel plays. Most don’t recognise the commitment to play the game the right way and ensure that defensively he sets the standard as the best defender that we have. It’s a great example to the rest of the group when the best player will ensure they play a two-way game.”

Kings B Team
Players Player
Josh Monico

“We think that this nomination should be Josh’s without any doubt. Throughout his career for Kings he was able to play for every single team in the club. And this season probably the biggest highlight was scoring his first goal for A team. We think that Josh is a great representation what this club is truly about. Came as a C teamer, grinded for years, made great friends on his journey and by his last year became a huge part of every single team in the club! That’s why his is the Players Player!”

Kings B Team
Coaches Player
Ben Scott

“This nominations was the hardest to choose for me and Dan since every single player on the time stood out this season. We made huge progress since last year in terms of playing structure and individual skills. However, we think Ben Scott has definitely showed what real dedication is.”

“The way his eyes sparkle on the ice, the way he talks with pure passion, and the way he cares about the team became the core element why we nominated Ben!”

Kings B Team
Nationals MVP
Chris Harrison

“We asked a lot from the team during the Nationals weekend and arguably we got everything we could from everyone. However I completely agree with the voting of the players here – Chris was our MVP. All you can ask in any game is that your goalie gives you a chance to win. Chris certainly gave us that and much more!”
