Bodyweight down. PB up.
Four months into my cut, 7.2kg lighter and honestly not expecting this today.
I completed my usual deadlift work, decided to match my previous 155kg PB and then went for 165kg.
A new PB and 10kg added to my best lift while deep into a calorie deficit.
Cutting or weight loss doesn’t mean strength has to disappear. Training hard, keeping protein high and recovering properly have all been important….but I’m still buzzing with this one.
165kg. Up it went 💪

The 130kg PB wasn’t the biggest win this week.
Thomas has spent weeks working on his deadlift. Not just trying to add more weight, but learning how to set up properly and move with better form.
When we started, his back would round, his strength was limited and deadlifts often left him with lower-back discomfort.
He listened, took the coaching on board and put the work in. Now he understands his setup, is lifting with much more confidence and has hit a new PB of over 130kg this last week - at 7am!!
The number is brilliant, but moving well, feeling strong and training without that previous discomfort is the real progress.
Well earned, Thomas 👏
🏆 CLIENT OF THE MONTH –
Some months, one person just sets the standard… and this month it’s Steven. 👏
In June he:
🔥 Completed the 500,000-step challenge
⚖️ Lost over 2.5kg of body fat
💪 Added 30kg to his deadlift
🏋️ Added 30kg to his squat
🦵 Added 20kg to his leg press
The impressive part? He achieved all of this while eating in a calorie deficit, starting a brand-new job, and staying consistent with his training.
But the biggest win wasn’t on the scales or the barbell.
After months of consistent strength training, Steven has been able to reduce the nerve pain medication he was taking for his back, because his pain has now disappeared. That’s a reminder that getting stronger can change far more than just how you look.
Every session he turns up with a smile, plenty of banter, and gives 100% from start to finish. He’s proof that consistency beats perfection, and that showing up week after week delivers incredible results.
Massive congratulations, Steven. Client of the Month is thoroughly deserved. 👊
Another week. More PBs. More graft. More laughs.

Client Success of the Week
This week’s shoutout goes to 👏
I challenged her to increase her daily steps from 10,000 to 15,000… and she absolutely blew past it. Last week she averaged over 18,000 steps a day, all whilst balancing work, being a Mum, and still getting her training sessions in.
That level of consistency and effort is exactly how real results are built. No shortcuts, just commitment day after day.
Massive well done, Flip. Proud of you 💪
A great week of training under the belt of my clients this week. It’s been a blast and there’s been a heap of progress made.
Take a look, and if you want to join in drop me a little message. You won’t regret it.
Summer is coming.
Thank you Flip. Been a pleasure getting you into strength training so far, so much more to achieve.
Another week down training some legends. Through highs and lows there is always gains and smiles.
As another week draws to an end, I celebrate leaving behind a 25 year career as a fine-dining chef and becoming a full time personal trainer and meal prep business owner. Thank you to all clients so far for their trust and belief. You’re all amazing.
