️💜✨️💜✨️14 YEARS TODAY✨💜✨️💜

Swagga Dance Academy started at St Phillip Howard school on the 7th October 2012. Following plans for the school to be converted into flats Swagga spent a brief time holding classes above the Hippodrome until settling into our first purpose built studio on Canterbury Road. However, it wasn't long before that space was outgrown with a large number of students in attendance.

Swagga Dance Academy Studios were opened in Sea Street in 2015 and that's where Swagga remained for 10 years. In April this year we moved into our new studios and couldnt be prouder of our new home 💜

Several shows, exams and competitions later and the academy is thriving with 150+ students currently enrolled.

We are biased but we definitely have the most wonderful dedicated teaching team and staff. Our students and families mean the world to us and we are privileged to have so many students entering our 14th year with us that have been with us since day one (including Miss Ellena who was a student from the day we opened!)

Thank you to everyone that has been a part of Swagga over the years 💜

✨ WE HAVE SOME NEWS! ✨

We are incredibly humbled, shocked, and absolutely thrilled to announce that we are a FINALIST at the UK Dance Awards 2026 for Small Dance School of the Year! 🏆💃

When we started this journey, our goal was simply to create a safe, inspiring space for our dancers to learn, grow, and share their passion. To be recognised on a national level alongside the very best of dance from across the UK is more than we ever could have dreamed of.

This achievement belongs entirely to our amazing students, supportive families, and incredible teachers. Thank you for making our dance school feel like one big family. We couldn't have done this without your hard work, dedication, and endless love for dance 💜

Huge congratulations to all the other finalists! Check out to see the official announcement, and head over to the UK Dance Awards Instagram to see all the incredible categories.

Bring on the finals! 🌟🎉

There is a unique kind of magic that happens in the studio. ✨
While many walk through our doors to master a technique or find a new hobby, they often leave with something far more permanent:
Lifelong friendships. 👯‍♀️

Over three weekends in March, our dancers took the stage at both SEPAC and Prestige, and let’s just say... they danced their socks off! 💃

From the early morning starts to the final bows under the big lights, we are beyond proud of the grit, grace, and growth every single student showed. Watching their hard work turn into such powerful performances is what it’s all about!
A huge shoutout to our incredible dancers, dedicated teachers, and our loud-and-proud cheering parents/families.

March has been a whirlwind, and we wouldn’t have it any other way 💜
