Good Luck All! πŸŠπŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸš΄πŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸƒπŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ

⚠️ Last-minute reminder for everyone taking part in the Oysterman this Sunday regarding road safety.

Road conditions around Kent can vary, and some sections of the route may present additional challenges for cyclists.

This year, we have:

* Increased the number of marshals across the entire event
* Marked serious hazards with pink spray paint
* Increased signage warning of hazards such as tight corners and poor road conditions
* Added an additional motorcycle marshal
* Reviewed and improved our Emergency Operating Procedure (EOP)
* Increased the training and information provided to all marshals
* Provided a recording of the cycle route for competitors to familiarise themselves with the course
* Re-evaluated and improved all of our event risk assessments
* Arranged for a bike repair specialist to be on site before the event starts

The safety of our competitors is our top priority. We ask that you ride safely and cautiously, take particular care when approaching hazards, and always follow the Highway Code.

Please watch the cycle route video before the event to familiarise yourself with the course and get an idea of the hazards you may encounter.

If you or a fellow competitor requires assistance, please speak to a marshal. However, if you believe it may be a life-threatening incident, or you are in any doubt, always call 999 first.

We look forward to seeing you all on Sunday.

Good luck, and stay safe! πŸŠβ€β™€οΈπŸš΄β€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

πŸ’™πŸŒŠ **Drowning Prevention Week – Thank You** πŸŒŠπŸ’™

As Drowning Prevention Week comes to a close, we'd like to thank everyone who has engaged with our water safety messages.

Water safety isn't just for one week of the year – it's a skill for life.

Remember the Water Safety Code:
πŸ›‘ Stop and Think
πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ Stay Together
πŸ“ž Call 999
πŸ›Ÿ Float

By sharing these simple messages, we can all help prevent accidents and keep our community safe in, on and around the water.

Stay safe and enjoy the water responsibly. πŸ’™

As Drowning Prevention Week comes to an end, we’d like to thank everyone who has taken the time this week to learn more about water safety and the importance of staying safe in and around water.

Throughout the week, our swimming lessons have focused on sharing the Water Safety Code, life-saving advice, and practical skills that can help keep children and adults safer around water.

Learning to swim is an essential life skill β€” but understanding how to recognise danger, make safe choices, and know what to do in an emergency is just as important.

A huge thank you to our swim teachers, swimmers, and families for supporting this year’s campaign and helping us spread these important messages.

Let’s continue to keep water safety conversations going all year round πŸ’™

πŸ’™πŸ›Ÿ **Drowning Prevention Week – Float to Live** πŸ›ŸπŸ’™

If you unexpectedly find yourself in trouble in the water, remember:

⭐ Tilt your head back.
⭐ Relax and try to control your breathing.
⭐ Move your hands gently to help you stay afloat.
⭐ Once calm, call for help or swim to safety if you can.

Floating can buy you valuable time until help arrives.

Share this advice with family and friends this Drowning Prevention Week.

Children can get into difficulty quickly and quietly around water.

Always:
πŸ‘€ Keep young children within arm's reach.
🏊 Actively supervise around pools, beaches and open water.
πŸ“΅ Put distractions away and stay focused.

Staying together could save a life.

πŸ’™πŸŒŠ **Drowning Prevention Week – Stop and Think** πŸŒŠπŸ’™

Before heading into or near the water, always take a moment to assess your surroundings.

πŸ›‘ Are there any hazards?
🌊 What are the conditions like?
πŸ‘€ Is there lifeguard supervision?

Taking a few seconds to stop and think can help keep you and your loved ones safe.

Let's all do our part to enjoy water safely this Drowning Prevention Week.
