A huge shout out to our Wickersley Youth JFC Under 15’s - 2026/27.

This season they look smart in the new Capelli sport away kit, kindly sponsored by Woodland Group.

They have made a great start to life in Division D of the Sheffield & District Junior Sunday League after promotion last year, they have won both league games and yesterday they advanced to the next round of the cup!

Well done boys, keep the run going 👏👏👏

🚨🏃 Great North Run Challenge!!

Best of luck to Liam Kay, manager of our Wickersley Youth Girls U12 Whites 26/27 and our new U8 Mini Reds Boys team who will be pounding the streets of the Great North Run this weekend!

Liam is raising funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, a charity close to the family.

A Shoutout to our Under 10 Red Girls!

The majority of this team were formed from our wildcats programme a few years and now they enter their 4th season together!!!

They have been really successful reaching the Sheffield & Hallamshire Women and Girls League Cup final on two occasions at U7 and U9 and also the Semi Final at U8. Several of the team have also been signed up to Emerging Talents Centres at Rotherham United and Sheffield United.

They embark on this season looking forward to the challenges ahead in what is a really competitive division with some great teams with professional links such as SWFC, SUFC and also now Huddersfield Town. Great to see Wickersley competing in this stage!

We look forward to see how the girls perform this season! 👏👏👏

A huge welcome to our new Under 7 Blues!!

Ricky and Craig are leading the team who have had a great start to life playing in the red and blue!

Over the summer they have been honing their skills and working together as a team through friendlies and a few tournaments, one of which they reached the final!

Last Sunday they played their first league game and it was a thriller for all involved! We are looking forward to see how the team develops across the season and excited for their journey ahead!!

🟦🟥 Outstanding Owen!! 🟥🟦

We want to give a huge shout out to Owen from our Wickersley Youth U12 Blues 2026/2027 who has been raising money for the fantastic Sheffield Children's Hospital NHS and Charity!

Owen set himself the incredible challenge of completing a 10km run and his pre-season has been full of training, preparation and ensuring that he was in top shape for the challenge!

Last night, Owen absolutely smashed the challenge!

He completed his 10km in under 50 minutes, finishing with an incredible final kilometre in less than 5 minutes! 🤯🔥

We even think Wickersley 10 might be a future next challenge?

From everyone at the club we are proud of not just what you have achieved last night but all the effort and dedication it takes to deliver that time! Wow!!! 👏👏👏

🌟⚽ INTRODUCING THE WICKERSLEY YOUTH FS2 ACADEMY SEASON 26/27!! ⚽🌟

We’re delighted to announce the launch of our latest Wickersley Youth FS2 Academy — giving our youngest players the perfect introduction to football! 🔴🔵

Starting Tuesday 29th September, we’re opening the doors to children in FS2 age for fun, engaging football sessions designed to help them:

⚽ Fall in love with football
🏃 Build confidence and coordination
🤝 Make new friends
⭐ Learn new skills
😊 Most importantly… HAVE FUN!

Our aim is simple — create a positive first experience of football and start their journey with Wickersley Youth JFC.

Throughout September we are displaying our teams for the coming season.

First up is our U13 girls!

They kicked off this season with an away victory at Middlewood, a tight contest with the girls behind at half time, they came back on the second half to secure the 3 points.

They are competing in the Sheffield & Hallamshire Women and Girls League Division 4 this year and have been a core group for a number of years now led by Coaches Rich and Chris.

A huge thanks to team sponsors EDClass for supporting the girls once again this year!

The girls have also set the standard for the most organised team photo! No pressure the rest of the teams!

Good luck to players, coaches and parents for the upcoming season!

This weekend, pitches across the country will start to fill again.

Boots will be laced.
Shin pads will go on.
Parents will be stood on touchlines, dryrobes optional.
Coaches will be shouting encouragement.

And, most importantly… kids will be playing football. ⚽️

For Wickersley Youth JFC, a new season means new teams, new players, new challenges and plenty of excitement.

But today, on the eve of another season, we also want to take a moment to think about those who won’t be walking out with us this season.

We particularly want to say a huge THANK YOU from the club to James Handley and Andy Tudor and their team who finished at U17s last season.

Thank you for the hours spent at training (and the hours spent off it thinking about training!)
Thank you for the weekends on the touchline.
Thank you for the countless messages, team talks and early starts.
Thank you for the patience, the encouragement and the belief in the players.

But most of all, thank you for the memories.

Because years from now, the children might not remember every result or league position… but they’ll remember the teammates they grew up alongside, the goals they celebrated, the tournaments, the laughs, the car journeys, the muddy Sundays and the coaches who gave up their time to make it all happen.

That is what grassroots football is really about.

People give their time, their energy and a little piece of themselves to help children create memories that can last a lifetime. Those lads will remember some of these moments forever and hopefully one day they will be bringing their kids to the Academy (Bob will still be doing it!)

So, to everyone who has been part of Wickersley Youth — past and present — thank you. 👏

And to all of our teams starting a new season this weekend…

Enjoy every minute.

Make memories.
