Hi All

I don’t want to be a party pooper but please could you take a moment to speak with your girls/children about the dangers of swimming in open water and reinforce how important it is to stay safe, especially during this hot weather.

over the bank holiday weekend there have already been 9 reported deaths linked to open water incidents 4 adults and 5 children. While the weather may make rivers, lakes, reservoirs and quarries look appealing, open water can be extremely dangerous due to cold water shock, hidden currents, sudden drops, poor visibility and difficulty getting out once in.

As a Team, the safety and wellbeing of the girls is always my priority, and I want to encourage them to make sensible decisions and only swim in properly supervised and designated areas.

I’ll also be speaking with them at training tonight, but I think it’s really important that we are all sharing and reinforcing the same message.
