Introducing Sandra ππ€
Some people lead from the front. Others lead by making everyone around them feel comfortable, supported, and capable of more than they thought possible. Sandra does exactly that.
Over the past 6 years, Sandra has become a much-loved part of RPR. Her calm nature, reassuring approach, and ability to put runners at ease has helped many members grow in confidence and enjoy their running journey.
Whether itβs a training session, a race day, or simply a chat before a run, Sandra is there with a smile, encouragement, and support when itβs needed most.
And of course, thereβs the carrot cakeβ¦ which may or may not have been responsible for a few extra PBs over the years! π₯π°

ππ€May Round-Up β Robin Park Runners π€π
What a month itβs been for Robin Park Runners! May has been packed with races, achievements, learning opportunities and plenty of miles shared together.
We kicked things off with our first official coaching session, where members worked on posture, running form and stride technique, picking up valuable tips to improve their running.
The racing calendar was busy too, with members proudly representing the club at the Yarrow Bluebell 10K, Alderley Edge 10K, Quarry Bank 10K Trail, and the ever-popular Wigan 10K Trail, where RPR turned out in fantastic numbers.
A huge congratulations goes to Zaneta Szlapka, who took on the challenging Kendal to Preston Ultra and finished an incredible 4th female overall β a phenomenal achievement. ππ
At the Chorley 10K, Wendy Lou Green, Sunday Dave David Moss and David Peers proudly flew the Robin Park Runners flag, while the Great Manchester Run saw members take on both the 10K and Half Marathon. A special mention goes to Abi, who knocked an amazing 13 minutes off her PB, showing what consistent training and determination can achieve.
We also held our parkrun takeover, with members stepping up to fill volunteer roles across the event. It was a huge success, and our team loved cheering, encouraging and supporting every runner who took part.
Away from racing, we were proud to support the community by taking part in the Wigan & Leigh Hospice Pub Walk, helping raise funds for a fantastic local cause.
We also held a track session, where members learned new techniques and training methods from our coaching team, continuing to develop skills and confidence.
Another major milestone this month was seeing Nikki and Marie successfully complete all of their training and qualify as Robin Park Runners Run Leaders. Their hard work, commitment and enthusiasm have been outstanding, and we know theyβll be a huge asset to the club as they help support and inspire our members.
Whether you raced, volunteered, coached, supported, or simply turned up for a club run, thank you for being part of what makes Robin Park Runners so special. Every achievement, contributes to the amazing community weβre building together.
ππ€ Robin Park Runners β Well done π€π
