Dee had the pleasure of meeting with Steven from Shevington Sharks Rugby Club along with Cllr Ready, Cllr Galligan and Andrea Glaspell from Wigan Council. As well as hosting the sport clubs, we were also shown around their fantastic club house which is a hidden gem in the area and is run by the community. As well as hosting football and rugby the club house is also used for exercise classes, karate, courses, baby and toddler classes and meetings.

Whenever we visit a community organisation in the Borough we are always keen to learn how we can support them. Both the rugby and football teams have grown in size over the last few years and are a vital asset for heath and wellbeing in the Shevington area.

We came away with some actions on how we can support the rugby club going forward but in the meantime if you live or work in the local area and can utilise the space you can contact them directly on their pages above 😀
