A midweek fixture for us this week due to it being Magic Weekend ✨

Tonight we hosted Chorley for the third time this year and faced yet another Wigan team for the 1st time in Hindley Stags. They were two very organised teams which came ready to play rugby, but they were matched in every department by a hungry Bulldogs team 🐶

With a full complement of players, we were able to field two teams!

With lots of communication and teamwork the home team played with lots of confidence and ran in a whopping 26 tries!!

Two very proud coaches after the performances from everyone tonight. There were lots of great things to take forward from this evening, with every player stepping up week on week!

It was so great to see the kids putting together all there skills from training.

Another great morning of rugby, this time in thankfully much cooler conditions! 🌤️🏉

Today was an extra special one for our team as, for the first time, we were able to field two teams. It's a fantastic milestone and a reflection of how our squad continues to grow week by week.

We faced two well-established sides in St Cuthbert's and Shevington Sharks, who have been playing together much longer than us. Despite that, our players more than held their own, scoring some brilliant tries, making plenty of tags, and showing just how much their basic rugby skills are developing each week. We couldn't be prouder of their effort and progress! 💪

💛🖤U8s match report - Sunday 28th June💛🖤

Away at Ashton Bears, along with Wigan St Cuthberts

Today we travelled to Ashton in Makerfield, where we faced a very well organised Bears team along with merging with a spirited but depleted Cuthberts team.

With all the team getting lots of game time, along with the rotation of players to support Cuthberts it gave us a chance to see them show off their skills. They did not disappoint 😃

All very organised in defence, lots of communication and team work to keep the host to minimum scoring opportunities.

In attack we saw some great runs, with players encouraging each other and scoring some well worked tries!

The Bulldogs edged the win with an outstanding team performance. We have two very proud coaches today. Every player should be proud of their contributions today 👏🏻

And in what feels like the blink of an eye we’re here again with the 1st of our match reports!

💛🖤 Halton Farnworth Greens v Wigan Bulldogs 28.06.26 💛🖤

It was an early trip to Widnes this morning for the U13’s and in the warm up the boys seemed a little quiet however from the first whistle they were far from it.

After an early mistake the Bulldogs showed a great attitude, working together in both defence and attack and managed to get in front on the score board.

It was a tough game against some big players but the boys worked together to protect the lead in the first half, unfortunately at the end of the second half Halton managed to break the line and gain themselves a couple of tries to take the victory.

The end score was a massive improvement of the reverse fixture and all the players should take confidence from this game going forward, especially as we were missing a few big players.

A special mention goes to Oliver on his first game back in a Bulldogs shirt after a break away from rugby and to Leighton who missed out on today’s game due to his card not being ready but he still travelled with the team and supported his new club from the sidelines.

Well done Bulldogs on the performance of the season today!

Before the weekend games kick in we’ve got our final match report from last weekend!

🖤💛Wigan Bulldogs u12s vs Westhoughton🖤💛

On Sunday the Bulldogs headed over to Westhoughton for our league match.

The Bulldogs attack was much stronger this time vs Westhoughton, completing the set and playing through our sets as a team has definitely grown the last few weeks. Leading to some good field possession.

At times this led us to scoring, the lads were on the Westhoughton line a number of times but a bit of panic set in and they weren’t always able to score a try.

Defences in the first half were good, linespeed and working as a team to complete the tackles and also forcing errors was really good, unfortunately in the second half the intensity wasn’t the same and Westhoughton capitalised on this.

But we absolutely cannot fault the lads for their positivity with each other and picking each other up throughout the game👏.

🐶🏉 Wigan Bulldogs U8s Training 🏉🐶

The heat was definitely on at training this week, so we kept things light and made sure everyone stayed safe while still having plenty of fun! ☀️💦

The team worked through a short, light training session before cooling off with water games and a few water fights to beat the heat. Lots of smiles, laughter, and team spirit all round!

A brilliant effort from all the youngsters despite the warm conditions. Thanks to everyone who came along and made it such an enjoyable session.

Wigan bulldogs v Burtonwood bulldogs

The U13’s were back at home after a few weeks without a game.

The game started well and we were putting together some good attacking plays but Burtonwood’s defence was strong and it was tough to get over the line.

The middle had to work hard against at big side and we had to work together to complete tackles but unfortunately Burtonwood were able to break the line.

It was a tough game in hot conditions but it was great to see a few players back from injuries.

Hopefully all of our Bulldog Dads had a good Father’s Day.

💛🖤U8s match report - Sunday 21st June💛🖤

We made the short journey across Wigan to take on Ince Rose Bridge along with travelling St Helens team Blackbrook in this week’s festival.

With the sun beating down it was a beautiful morning for some Rugby League and the kids did not disappoint.

Every player brought there ‘A’ game both in attack and defence. Some fantastic individual efforts, all contributing to a great team performance. Each player was working and communicating together throughout the games.

Although we didn’t come away with the wins on the scoreboard, the way we played was more than a win all day. So much to take forward from the day.

Not only are coaches Mike and Tom super proud of them all, they should all be proud of themselves.
