We are looking for an experienced Green-keeper to join our Greens Team.

A HUGE thank you to the incredible golf captains who chose us as their charity for 2024. Together they have raised over £12,000 for Leukaemia UK - with more still to be added! 👏

From hosting charity captains’ days to organising luncheons, coffee mornings, raffles, auctions, a comedy bingo night and even selling our Christmas cards, they have gone above and beyond.

Bar Attendant
Ashton-in-Makerfield Golf Club

Responsible To – Bar Manager/ Secretary / Manager
Minimum wage.

Job Description
All bar staff are ultimately responsible for providing timely, accurate and friendly service in the bar areas. An understanding of Golf Club protocol is essential to ensure the smooth running of the bars. This job description forms the basic requirements of your employment.

Responsibilities & Duties:
- Taking drinks orders from customers, members and their guests
- Preparation of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including teas and coffees
- Accepting accurate payments from members and customers, process customer discount cards
- Wash and stack all glassware correctly
- Assisting in restocking the bars, wine room and cellar
- Clear down tables in the bar areas
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar, including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, storage areas, fridges, dish and glass washes
- Report any problems to the Bar Manager
- Accountable for cash accuracy when processing payments in the till.

Basic Requirements
- Be age of 18 years or over
- Punctual, honest, reliable, trustworthy and respectful at all times
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time
- A knowledge of beer, wine, spirits and common drink recipes
- Be able to work unsupervised and prioritise duties
- Deliver excellent customer service at all times
- Various hours available, but will include weekends and evenings

Assistant Greenkeeper Opportunity

There is an opportunity to join our Greens Team at Ashton Golf Club.

Ideally we are looking for a minimum NVQ Level 2 Sports Turf Management , with 2 years Greenkeeping experience.

The successful candidate should be motivated, flexible and possess a positive outlook to join the current Team under our Head Greenkeeper, Bob Cooper.

Benefits will include a contributory Pension Scheme, a Team uniform and the BIGGA Membership will be provided.

We are located one mile off the M6, Junction 24.
