πΏ A Mindful Moment β Day 6: Micro-Walk
A 5-minute walk counts. Around the house counts. To the end of the street counts.
Feel heel-to-toe. Let your arms swing.
When you finish, pause and notice: do you feel even 1% different?

πΏ A Mindful Moment β Day 5: One Kind Sentence
Hand on heart, and say (out loud if you can):
"I'm doing my best today."
You don't need to earn rest. You don't need to earn kindness.

FLEXOLOGIST ~ a workshop ~ Saturday 20th June
To celebrate International Day of Yoga this year (21st June), I am delighted to be welcoming Gurpreet () to the studio for a very special workshop.
There's no better way to celebrate Ithis special day than by giving your body exactly what it needs β space to breathe, move freely, and feel truly at home in itself.
Flexologist is a special 90-minute yoga and mobility workshop created to help you move better, feel freer, and rediscover what your body is capable of. No pressure, no perfection β just mindful, intentional movement guided with care.
Blending the wisdom of yoga with functional mobility techniques, this session gently explores the areas where most of us hold tension and restriction β hips, spine, shoulders, and ankles β helping you release stiffness, support your joints, and build the kind of mobility that makes everyday life feel easier.
What to expect:
* A full-body mobility warm-up to ease you in and wake you up
* Yoga-based joint-opening sequences for hips, spine, shoulders, and ankles
* Functional movement flows to improve how you move day to day
* Guided Pranayama for deeper release and mind-body connection
* A gentle cool down, plus a simple take-home routine you can use anytime
Who is this for?
Everyone and anyone β beginners, experienced practitioners, athletes, desk workers, and everyone in between. If you live in a body and want to feel better in it, this session is for you.
What you'll take away:
You'll leave feeling lighter, freer, and more connected β not just to your body, but to the true spirit of what yoga is all about.
Come celebrate this special day with us. Your mat (and your hips) will thank you. π

What "luxuries" wouldn't you do without?
I may live in yoga leggings, but that doesn't stop me enjoying a touch of glamour!
Every couple of weeks, a little time for me, pausing while I get my nails done in one of my favourite places. I never fail to feel better when I leave.
A luxury I will always create space for.
What about you?
PS I highly recommend Caroline Leigh, Laura Louise , and Claire at Time For Me Beauty......

πΏ A Mindful Moment β Day 3: Soften Your Shoulders
Inhale: lift shoulders up.
Exhale: drop them down.
Repeat 5 times⦠and let your jaw soften too.
If your body's been carrying a lot lately, let this be your reminder: you don't have to hold it all.

πΏ A Mindful Moment β Day 2: One Mindful Sip
Take the first 3 sips of your drink slowly today β notice temperature, taste, and the swallow.
A tiny practice, but it can change the pace of your whole morning.

πΏ A Mindful Moment β Day 1: Arrive
Each day this week, I'm sharing a tiny mindful moment β just a minute or two to pause, breathe, and gently come back to yourself.
Wherever you are right now⦠feel your feet on the floor.
Take 3 slow breaths and quietly name each part: inβ¦ outβ¦
That's it. You've arrived.
If you're joining in, comment "done" (or just a little heart) so we can cheer each other on.

Welcome back stories are some of my favourites β because they remind us that yoga is always here when youβre ready, no matter how long itβs been. Hereβs a little note from a lovely member of our community, Clair, who recently returned to class after a long break, and found their way back gently, one breath at a time.
Once an OG, I took an enforced break after I had COVID (and a whole host of related ill health afterwards.) I suddenly felt weak, unfit and unable to do many of the activities I had once enjoyed. I still remember how it felt to have to stop halfway up the stairs to take a break and that I cried after a walk around the block - simply because I was so exhausted.
I'm sad to say that it took me a full SIX YEARS to return to The Den. And I wish I had returned sooner because, now that I'm back, a lot of the reasons I had to stay away - still feeling not quite healthy enough, a busy life, a sense that I would feel disappointed in myself and would have forgotten everything - seem a bit daft. Improving my physical and mental health and having a little bit of 'me time' in the middle of a busy life are the reasons that I went to yoga in the first place and I missed it a lot.
Tiffany is (and always was) incredibly welcoming, supportive and inclusive of all abilities and I know that if I'd had a chat to her about my concerns, she would have been able to offer me lots of advice - and talked to me about the adjustments I could have made to my yoga practice, to help me with my health issues. It was only me, holding me back.
But I'm back on the mat now and loving it - and it's not worth holding on to any regrets. So, if you've had some time away from your yoga practice (or haven't started at all) I'm sure that Tiffany and the students at The Den will be ready to offer you a very warm welcome.
