What a great day out for our club. Videos to follow but the headlines are:
Rose and Yasmin got p b s in both lifts and totals.
Ben got close.
Adanna put on a technical masterclass in her preparation for the British Weight Lifting Age group championships (6/6).
Yasmin qualified for the European Masters next year, with an heroic last clean and jerk.
Daisy Marshall did a great job preparing the lifters in the week beforehand and helping Rose in the first group. Trainee coach helped out all day: big thanks to both.
Well done to everyone for supporting each other.
Thanks to Craig Spicer and all the volunteers at Crazy Strength for running another great competition.

Athlete of the week: Ben Galloway.
Ben is one of our Masters lifters. He’s a father of two and manages his training around his demanding work shift. This Saturday he is competing at the crazy strength competition.
He’s a former competitive bmxer. He’s also our resident ‘fixer’ who uses his mechanical skills to look after our barbells.

Coach James is working with at the clinic in Orlando.
He's also got the world masters championships in Athens in 9 days time.
Being a masters athlete isn't a game of perfect. It's about managing training around life, work, family commitments.
Training before dawn isn't ideal, but it's better than sitting on the couch critiquing others!
Thanks to for the t-shirt!

'nuff said. Jack is the most experienced athlete at our club. His athleticism isn't an accident. He's trained with us, every week, for 12 years!
If you want to be faster, stronger and fitter, why not train with him?

Adanna ‘300 towel’.
Adanna is one of only two of our members who has participated in all three of our sports (weightlifting, athletics and gymnastics).
She has volunteered as a coaching assistant at both gymnastics and weightlifting. She has competed in athletics a few times and ten times in weightlifting!
She is currently preparing for the British weightlifting age group championships in October.
