We are sorry to share that this mornings game with Shipley Town was abandoned due to a very serious injury to one of our players midway through the first half.

We will share more details on this when we can, as our vice captain remains in hospital overnight as they assess him and take the relevant steps forward to ensure a good recovery.

We were leading 2-0 at the time with Shipley then going down to 10 men due to this incident. Our goals had come from Dylan & Junior on debut.

The game will have to be replayed. Details to follow.

Season 1️⃣2️⃣ Match 1️⃣1️⃣

We host to Shipley Town in the District Cup tomorrow. They’re a side we have faced an awful lot in recent years and they lifted the Div 1A title last season. Our performances have been improving and we hope that can continue tomorrow.

The Nest will be open for refreshments, including tea/coffee, water, pop, chocolate, crisps and much more.

Introducing ‘The Nest’

It might not look much, but it’s somewhere:
- Warm and dry for the children to play
- Spectators to stand
- Refreshments to be bought

It further enhances our commitment to being a family club, a place where people want to play and want to bring their parents, partners, kids, friends and just about anyone to the game. So they can be a part of our club too.

Thanks to everyone that made use of it yesterday and purchased hot drinks, pop, chocolate and other snacks. As well as club sec Charlotte who did an excellent job running it yesterday.

Any feedback as the season goes on is welcome. Or if you want something specific adding to the menu, let us know.

Throstles bow out of the league cup after a narrow defeat at home.

We started quickly this morning and got ourselves in front, but found ourselves 2-1 down at half time, due to a dubious opener for low moor, with a potential foul in the buildup, and a deflected second.

We dug deep and did everything we could to get at least level and take the game to pens but we just couldn’t quite manage it.
It’s back to back defeats by 1 goal, which shows we’re doing lots right with plenty of positives, but the fine margins need to improve to get to winning ways next time out, in another tough game.

Thanks to all that came out today to support the lads, as well as a debut for The Nest, which was really popular!

We host to unbeaten Low Moor in our first home fixture of the season tomorrow. Having already faced them in our opener we know what to expect and we’ll have to be at our best to get to the next round of the cup, but we have every confidence we can do just that. Especially after a positive performance last time out even if the result didn’t go our way.
