Today is the turn of our Valkyries! They are making their Division 2 debut after smashing their first season in seniors last year 🫡 This will provide lots of new challenges with plenty new teams to face and we can’t wait to see them continue to grow 💪

A group of netballers from Winchburgh Warriors Netball Club (Stacia, Kerri, Gail, Leah, Beka, Paige, Maria and Elisha) recently took on the 7 Hills of Edinburgh challenge.

They set off at 9am to cover Arthur’s Seat, Blackford Hill, Braids Hill, Easter Craiglockhart, Corstorphine Hill, Castle Hill and Calton Hill! It took them just over 7.5 hours and they covered over 27km in what was a very hot day but everyone had a great time!

Thank you to everyone involved for your support and raising over £600 from your challenge for Alzheimer's Research UK 🧡👏

This is about to be our biggest year as we look to grow our recreational section and start to take actions towards building a junior section here in Winchburgh! Want to be part of it? ⬇️

📅 Our recreational sessions run on Monday nights, starting on the 24th August, 7:15-8:15 at the Winchburgh Sport & Wellbeing Hub (Xcite). Your first time is free and then it’s £6 thereafter.

🏐 Exciting news for Winchburgh Warriors Netball Club! 🏐

We’re incredibly proud to announce that Winchburgh Warriors Netball Club has been selected as one of just seven local community clubs to receive funding from the Winchburgh Community Chest. A huge thank you to Winchburgh Developments, Cala Homes and Winchburgh Community Council for their support and investment in local community groups.

This is a huge milestone for our club and will allow us to take the next step in our development by exploring the introduction of a junior netball section. We’ll be investing in coach education, putting the right foundations in place, and running junior taster sessions to gauge interest within the community.

We’re incredibly proud of the strong reputation Winchburgh Warriors has built since the club was founded, and this funding allows us to build on that legacy by creating even more opportunities for young people in and around Winchburgh to enjoy netball.

On Saturday, 8 of our warriors took on the 7 Hills of Edinburgh challenge to raise money for MS Together and Alzheimer's Research UK. In just over 7.5 hours and 27km, they covered Arthur’s Seat, Blackford Hill, Braids Hill, Easter Craiglockhart, Corstorphine Hill, Castle Hill & Calton Hill 💪

They all smashed their challenge and have also smashed their fundraising target! 🗻

However, there is still time to donate - both charities are very close to the clubs heart and every penny counts! 🫶🏼

A reminder that we are off for the summer!

Existing members are welcome to the Bring a Friend night on the 10th, but newbies to us are recommended on the 24th to make sure we can fully look after you!!

An official well done to both Vixens 🦊 and Valkyries 🛡️⚔️ in their respective play offs yesterday!

Vixens played off against the top of Pool C, where Braes Wildfire took the win - but there is absolutely no dampening by the spirit of these ladies! Vixens have had a brilliant season of playing together and they continue to go from strength to strength. We wish them all the best for next season 💜

Valkyries went up against Stirling Steel, who were the bottom of div 2 in a well contested and competitive game! Valkyries took the win, to secure their promotion to div 2 which really validated how hard they worked in their first senior season 🤩

We’re now into trials time and we look forward to seeing many new and returning faces ☺️
