Your guard is your superhero shield. It keeps you safe, balanced, and ready.🥋
If your guard drops, so does your protection.
Strong basics make strong martial artists, and it all starts here 👇🏻
1. Hands Up, Elbows In
Hands protect your face, elbows protect your body.
(If your elbows are out, your body is open!)
2. Chin Down, Eyes Forward
Look at your partner, not the floor.
(We want strong posture, not turtle posture!)
3. Light Feet, Soft Knees
Bend your knees slightly so you can move fast like a ninja. 🥷🏼
4. Protect First, Move Second
Good martial artists guard before they kick or punch.
5. Imagine Holding Two Ice Creams 🍦🍦
Don’t drop them! This helps keep hands in the right place.
Parents — ask your child to show you their guard tonight for 10 seconds.
If they can hold it still, balanced, and smiling they’re doing great!
Quiet classes today due to half term but was great to see the progression across all classes as we get closer to grading.
