Court 5 briefly decided it wanted to become a woodland court this week…

Following some rather enthusiastic weather, one of our trees made an unplanned appearance across the court, bringing play to a temporary halt.

We’re pleased to report that Dennis (LTC’s unofficial mascot) escaped the excitement completely unscathed. 🐾🐾 Fortunately, he didn’t get squished and seemed far more interested in supervising proceedings than worrying about the giant tree!

A huge thank you to everyone involved in clearing the court and getting us back in action so quickly. Court 5 has now returned to its usual role of hosting tennis rather than forestry.

What a day for Littleton Tennis Club ☀️🎾🥵

Huge congratulations to both our ladies and men’s teams who battled through the incredible May heat today with smiles, spirit and some brilliant tennis 💪

The ladies delivered an impressive 3-1 home win against league leaders Lyndhurst and remain unbeaten this season 👏🔥

Meanwhile the men fought hard for a strong 2-2 away draw against Avondale B 🙌

Special mention to the fact that 3 of our 8 players today all came from one family ❤️ That says everything about the kind of club Littleton is. Competitive tennis, great people and a lovely community spirit.

Now for a very large cold drink all round 🍹😅

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the Littleton Open Day such a success 🙌 We had nearly 60 people come along — just brilliant! ✨

We are a club run by its volunteers and made truly special by them and yesterday was the perfect example of that in action 💚 From baking the most delicious cakes 🍰, to keeping the tea and coffee flowing ☕, to chatting so warmly with new faces 😊 and getting out on court to rally with those thinking about joining… it was all of you who created such a welcoming, relaxed and genuinely lovely atmosphere ✨

A special shout out to our fantastic junior volunteers Elana, Juno and Evan 🌟 who did an amazing job supporting Chris Hughes .tennis with the juniors and minis 👏🎾

And the weather… simply perfect ☀️ Blue skies, full courts and lots of smiles. Littleton at its very best: a friendly village tennis club at the heart of the community 💚

A fun afternoon for our Mixed team playing their first match of the season away at Compton ☀️🎾

A really close fought match, with a narrow victory to the home team 5–3… could not have been much tighter! Well played to everyone involved 👏

What a beautiful day for tennis and great to be out competing in the sunshine 🌿
