Club Time Trial Series - Round Three Results
It was another glorious evening on Monday 10th August for the second club time-trial of the season. Thankfully no roadworks on the course this week (which had caused the cancellation of the second race in the series).
Nineteen riders signed on to ride including Ian Chitty our only guest rider from the Newbury Road Club.
Bobby Buenfeld was fastest rider on the night recording 20m 30s on his time-trial bike despite (allegedly) having a slow puncture. George King set a new course record on road bike stopping the clock at 21m 01s.
Bart Huby and Kate Amies were our only two up pair recording 27m 18s.
Shout out to new junior member Oliver Corrie who only joined the club a few days ago and came along to pin on a number for his first club event recording 28m 36s.
As usual a massive shout out to all of the volunteers who assisted on the night Toby Leyland and Lydia Gould at HQ, Stuart Gilmour and David Martin at the start, Conor Logan marshalling the outpost at Preston Candover and the finish timekeepers Ysarn Higigns and Darren Lyons.
A full de-brief was held after at the Cricketers PH in Alresford.
The final round of the club series will take place on Wednesday 9th September using the new H10/283 course. You can pre-enter by following the link here,

Venta Junior Boys On The Podium At Stage 2 of the Fenwicks Junior Tour of the Mendips
Four young riders from VC Venta took to the start line of the Fenwicks Junior Tour of the Mendips which is the latest round of the British Cycling National Junior Road Series.
Stage one yesterday was a closed circuit time trial at Odd Downs near Bath. Alistair Gardner was best placed going in to stage two having placed 15th in the time trial with Hamish Hunter slightly further back in 19th, Bobby Buenfeld in 30th and Tommy Stroud in 46th position from 64 starters.
Stage two was a 110km road stage on the Riflemans Circuit near Blagdon which saw outstanding rides from all of the boys. Alistair claimed 2nd place just a few tenths of a second in front of Hamish in 3rd before a gap to the bunch where Bobby claimed 12th place and Tommy in 32nd.
These are unprecedented results for the club at a National Junior event and we look forward to seeing how the boys go on the final stage tomorrow, a repeat of today with a further 110 km stage on the same circuit.
