There’s only one company out there that can make a better bib short than Q36.5’s Dottore Bib...and that’s Q36.5 ...when they launch the next version of their current Dottore Bibs...which are already the best on the market!

I know I talk about Q36.5 a lot and if you’ve even been curious enough to go and check them out, either on their own website or through 7hundred you may look at the price and baulk...but the fact is quality is quality and you get what you pay for.

.

I have a principle I abide by in my work and home life and that is that instead of price, we should instead measure products on their value. Not ‘value’ in the sense of cheap, but in the actual performance, longevity and quality of the product for its price.

.

Some people will naturally operate at the opposite end of the scale and would rather have a dozen pairs of bibs, rather than one amazing pair, and there are aspects in life where going the disposable route is a perfectly legit approach, but after trying Q’s Dottore bibs I doh d them to be simply game-changing. The comfort in the saddle, the endurance gains and performance gains but also...their ruggedness and durability too. I’ve had my Dottore bibs for 3 years now. As a cyclist that commutes every day, I also wash them every day. I wasn’t them in a wash bag on a 30 degree was and then leave them to dry on a hanger overnight. Truth is - they’re as good. I was the day I bought them and the chamois is as comfortable as ever.

.

I have, since owning the Dottore, worn other bibs from other brands and every time the apparent discomfort becomes noticeable! I found myself adjusting, sliding around and in some cases even experienced some numbness, numbness that the Q bibs simply works to eliminate through well considered chamois design and intelligent use of materials.

.

This same quality is a theme that runs through all of the apparel from @q36_5, base layers, jerseys, socks, gloves and jackets. Hard wearing, great fitting, excellent performance and small details that for long-term Q owners, has become a new norm - no seams, no fraying and long life.

.

Seriously. Check email out. You won’t regret it.
Dave - are you going to be getting the Quickguard mudguards back in stock? Certainly interested in having a look to see if they will fit the front wheel of my bike. Cheers

Another stunning Sarto ASOLA PLUS Premium Custom Carbon bike in the making.

Ideally suited to climbing courtesy of its incredible low weight, yet the ride is confident and asured. A clever balance that will reward riders as much on the descent as on the climb.

All Sarto frames are fully customisable - from carbon lay-up, tube thickness, headtube diameter, bottom bracket standard, to custom geometry. These can be adjusted according to your specific wants and needs and are available at no additional cost.

The only option that commands a premium is paint and this is only for fully customised, complex designs and finishes.
As standard your custom frame will be finished to your colour and design requirements with bottle cages, handlebar, stem and seat post included in that design and without additional charge, save for conditions as outlined above.

The DOGMA F represents The Art of Balance.
Pinarello and INEOS share the same belief that the Dogma needs to be a bike that is as much valid for windy, fast, flat stages as it is for gruelling mountainous terrain and queen stages. With significant revisions and improvement over the F12, the new Dogma F is the perfect balance of aero, stiffness, and weight, allowing INEOS to maintain competitiveness in the Peloton.
It is a bike designed to win.

Available in both Rim and Disc models that have been designed independently to assure optimisation of both, the Dogma F is for everyone.

Reminiscing a stunning Alpine route, Nice to Geneva unsupported in 2018, with the full spectrum of weather, mechanicals and emotions to boot. Only to be survived in the company of great friends. Does riding your bike get any better?!

With these same guys, we’re now planning our 2022 expedition through the Dolomites, Venice - Milan, again unsupported. It’s gonna get emotional!
This is perhaps the only way to get me motivated right now. Already overweight & likely carrying another 6kg in kit, it’s time to shed some kgs. I am ALL in!

We’d love to hear your greatest cycling memories or post lockdown plans.

Go long!
If you’ve spent some time in store, you’ll know Jeandre is partial to an adventure. This was his most recent excursion
.
It's been a long old year and decided to push my boundaries. After putting some skinnier tyres on Sophia Danenberg, the ever trustworthy Curve GMX, three litres of water and a few bags filled with food to boot I set off at midnight on Friday.

Heading north over Oxford, through the Chilterns and Cotswolds into Bath to refill supplies I was unpleasantly surprised by the number of +20% gradients I encountered but all part of the adventure.

Into Frome and a quick coffee at Pronto Bikes around 12h30 and 240km down. The last 160km (or 100 miles as the folks here would say) were a slog but with rain approaching it was time to put my head down and head through Salisbury and Winchester.
At 300km my one GPS decided it had enough of the day and died unexpectedly, luckily the back-up one got me home.
Goal was 400km in 24 hours, got home 402km in 20h18mins

Out of sight. Out of mind.

The elements of your bike that you can’t see are the elements that count!

It’s easy to forget that these hidden parts accumulate water and dirt and like gradually gaining weight, it’s often not until someone you haven’t seen in a while says ‘damn!’ - that you might notice. And by then the damage might be done!

For the most part and as a minimum, we recommend stripping your bike annually to pay these critical areas some attention - in order to keep your machine performing optimally and minimising the risk of greater damage.

When did you last give your treasured ride some TLC?
Valentine’s Day is round the corner and the workshop is taking bookings : go on, show it you care and don’t forget to lube 😉

Devil in the detail 👌🏻

This is George’s impeccably specified Colnago C64 Disc.

George has a wealth of cycling experience and likes things just so - he openly admitted to being “anal” about this build and every aspect was a considered decision.

Chapeau too, it’s a quintessential Italian build. Group set and wheels are Campagnolo Suoer Record and BORA WTO Ultra and the bike is finished with Italian boots from Vittoria, Colnago cockpit, cages and bottles and a Fizik 00 saddle. In fact, the only non Italian aspect are the Time Carbon / Ceramic pedals. But that’s easily forgiven!

Strap in. Curve ball.

It’s ok not to be ok.

Over the last 2 Covid years many of us have had to deal with a changing psychological landscape.

The pressures of isolation and the removal of social interactions - or just a simple change in the comfort of routine - have created additional stresses for many.

As has been evident in our trade, countless people have turned to the bike as a way to exercise and release that angst.

Speaking personally - things have been very different as an ‘essential’ retailer. While those of us in these jobs have had the benefit of a normal-ish routine and continued interactions (albeit vastly different in tone for the most part) - additional demand coupled with scarcity of supply has created an intense working environment and - sadly for me at least - less time and motivation to ride.

The increased work pressures, a slide out of cycling coupled with bouts of illness / poxy Covid in the limited down time, have led to a level of fatigue and malaise I thought I was previously stoic enough to bat away.

I’m not. No one is. Neither should we have to be.

With key staff taking a well earned and long overdue holiday, some regular shop hours and the motivation of a new Gravel whip, I am managing to get some (slow) miles in on the commute.

I have mentioned before the catharsis I find in riding and the perspective it often brings. I now recognise it too for what it is to me : therapy.
Those who have ridden club rides with me in the past may have been left wanting for convo - this at least, explains that! I’m talking; but to myself. Squaring myself away mentally.

So my point is this. If someone asks how you are - take a breath and answer honestly. It will freak a few out but have the conversation - even if it’s brief.
Failing that, ride your bike without agenda and let your mind settle..

Hell, if you want to talk to me - pop in for a chat.

Be good to yourselves.
Happy Thursday 👊🏼🧠🦾
