& breathe FT 2-2 , Windsor win 5-4 on pens. A full blooded cup tie which couldâve gone either way, I have learnt today that I still donât like penalty shootouts, years of watching England have scarred me for life. Having said that some quality pens by both sides, thankfully for us George made a good save from Readings 5th. Into the next round & back to Reading YMCA next Saturday to do it all again in the league

FT 1-3
An entertaining game, which wouldâve benefited from a lighter touch from the man in the middle who was giving a series of strange decisions both ways and not letting what was always going to be a combative game flow. With Burghfield taking the lead early on, that seemed to wake us up & we responded in quick fashion nodding home from a set piece, before Fifi rifled a free kick home to put us in front, there was still time for Burghfield to be awarded a pen which never shouldâve been, that was saved by George who took several blows in the line of duty today. So we led 2-1 at HT, the second half was again a stop start affair with the official far too eager to give every slight bit of contact as a free kick. Then Ben Catt put us 3-1 up & the Burghfield keeper pulled off some really good saves to keep the score that way. So a very credible 3-1 victory away at a very strong team keeps us at the top & defeat for Westwood today is a huge plus! A week off next week before we go into cup action in 2 weeks time. Another great step forward & all the best to Burghfield for the rest of the season.
Full time 1-2 Not too sure where to start, a game that had 3 pens and 2 red card. We started very poorly & our opposition took full advantage on 4 mins cutting straight through us and finishing well. We started getting into the game around 20mins in. Then the most ludicrous pen decision you will see anywhere this season gave us a route back into the game & JJ obliged from the spot. Within minutes we had a 2nd pen this time stonewall, this one was put over. HT 1-1. 2nd half and Fifi was into the action and our opposition were finding life a little harder. A 3rd pen given for a challenge on Fifi & down to 10 men somewhat harshly our opposition went. Fifi Cooley dispatched the pen and we were in front, however we too were soon down to 10, a 2nd yellow for kicking the ball away, harsh again as it was the only time all game a player was carded for that offence & it was happening a lot. So we saw the game out. Not our best 90 mins this season but a win, the league table certainly doesnât do our hosts today justice and Iâm sure they will start to move up the league. On to the next!
đ CUP DRAW | in the 2nd Round of the Berks & Bucks Charles Twelftree Trophy weâve been drawn at home to Kennington Athletic.
The game will take place Saturday 14th October, 2pm k/o.
We look forward to our first ever game in this competition!
What a way to get your 1st win, 6-0 under the lights 400+ crowd, oh & the football, it was sumptuous, the finishing was clinical, the oppo keeper didnât put a foot wrong & made some good saves, but that was just scintillating, roll on Saturday, thereâs something special building!
What a day yesterday!
The crew met in peascod street at 9.30am and we proceeded to go to Foggs for breakfast. Whilst walking through Danielâs Cookie and a couple of other reminisced about getting toys in there when they were young. Once in Foggs we ordered the breakfast which was a choice of âthe full Montyâ or âfuller Montyâ needless to say a few of us had the fuller Monty which was a beast of a breakfast but my god was it good. Special Shout out the Magdalena who was lovely and helpful. Bit strange to have brekkie without a pint though đ We then went on to Windsor brewery in which we are always welcomed with open arms. It has a rustic homely charm and has a brilliant atmosphere. Humpty was the weird one today as he was going through the sours especially the sweet shop sour! đşđşđş We then went to the game and weâre astonished by the amount of people at the ground and what an atmosphere there was. It was great to see faces old and new plus ex players and managers like Scotty and Jim, Ryan Parsons, Chenns and Tilbs to name a few. Although we only drew 0-0, it was an entertaining game where we hit the post three times and Burghfield had their chances too. Brilliant support throughout the game bringing back some of the old songs we use to sing. We had a beer tent and food tent outside the ground which was a nice experience. Attendance was 1022 which was astonishing! After the game we sat in the bar a had a drink and chatted about the game. Some of the players came in and happened to say they were going out to the brewery that evening so an Uber was called and we met them down there it was great to mingle with them get their take on the game, find out about their backgrounds and what they think about the club. All in all we made the most of the day and it was bloody brilliant. Thanks to all involved. â¤ď¸đ Football in Berkshire Spotted Windsor UK Windsor & Eton FC
Some of the Crew out & about before todays massive first home game for Windsor & Eton FC
What a brilliant day for our first game of the season. We met in the Hope Tap at 10am for the using lining of the stomach with a big breakfast whilst supping a pint of Exmoor Stag which was a popular choice between us all. I know David Smithson is particularly fond of this brew. Shame he was unable to be with us today. Back in 1991, Somerset County Cricket Club celebrated its 100th anniversary and Exmoor produced Stag to celebrate the occasion. Special props to Hayden Wheeler for getting up at 6.30am to catch a train from Essex to come and meet us and go to the game. We then went on to the Nags had which is a great pub. Sports on various tvâs, and loads of choice of ales and ciders and a great outdoors area. The pint of choice here was Avena by Vibrant Forest a hazy tropical beer. We then got a Uber to the ground which was the John Madeski Academy a pretty neat setup with a 4G pitch. We had to watch the game from outside the cage but we were in good spirits and voice. It was great to see some old faces come too like Chopper and his dad. The game itself was a very even affair with both teams sharing the points 2-2. A pretty good start to the season. We then went to the Alehouse in which Hayden managed to get the landlord to allow him to put a Windsor sticker on the ceiling just as you walk into the pub. A good start to the season which the GPC enjoyed a lot! Thanks to all involved and all that came đ´đ˘ Next up is Burghfield FC where we are attempting to get 1000 people through the turnstiles. Entry is free so itâs a great opportunity to see the new team.

Windsor 2 Egham 3: Our first friendly as the newly reformed WEFC and to say we were buzzing was an understatement. We started with the obligatory breakfast in spoons. The Good Yarn in Uxbridge. Looks very small from the front but stretches out towards the back. We then head on to the match and after a couple of laps round Brunel Uni we find that the ground actually isnât in the uni and is just past the uni on on the left. A nicely set out 4G facility that has four pitches. We have a good turnout today with some old faces and obviously our regulars. I estimate that the crowd was around 80-100. We are greeted by a handshake from Matt and the coaching staff which was a nice introduction. The game itself was a very even affair with both sides putting in their all and getting many chances. Egham got the victory and will be up the top of the CCL premier this season for sure. Each half had a different squad of Windsor players and it was a nice touch at the end of each half the players came off and shook the fans hands. We are hoping to have more of a closeness with the management and players this year and so far things are looking great. We want to make this club have a good sense of community. Goals for Windsor were by Brad Brown with a penalty and Ali Syed with a free kick. Great first game display and canât wait for Virginia water on Tuesday. After the game some of the crew went on to Maidenhead beer festival and carried on the merriment and who should we bump into but Paul Reed who played for the original WEFC when Simon Lane was in charge. All in all a brilliant day and we just canât wait for our first home game of the season where we will attempt to get 1000 supporters through the turnstiles. COME ON YOU ROYALISTS!!! đ´đ˘
Windsor & Eton FC will start life in the Thames Valley Premier League!!
