£110,000 in grant funds given to local charities, projects and good causes in 2022
We’re so grateful to find out that we are also on this list of recipients.
The awarded grant from The Prince Philip Trust Fund and a bike trailer donated by &EtonBrewery will enable Windsor Cycle Hub to build a mobile bike kitchen. Carrying tools and a range of spares, this mobile bike kitchen will allow Windsor Cycle Hub to provide a ‘pop-up’ bike repair service at community events in and around Windsor.
Work on the mobile bike kitchen will be carried out by Windsor Cycle Hub mechanics, in addition to their current activities of providing free safety checks every Saturday morning at The Swan in Clewer and refurbishing donated bikes for use back in the community. The work will comprise adding tool and spares storage, as well as a bike workstand to the bike trailer, so that basic bike repairs and safety checks can be carried out away from their normal base at the Swan. They hope to complete this work early next year.
Windsor Cycle Hub look forward to pedalling this mobile bike kitchen out and about in 2023, as we believe that it will enable us to provide more of our great Active Travel-friendly bike servicing to a even wider range of communities in and around Windsor; which wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of the Prince Philip Trust and Windsor & Eton Brewery
£110,000 in grant funds given to local charities, projects and good causes in 2022
The Prince Philip Trust Fund for Windsor and Maidenhead has given out a further £60,000 in grant funds to 36 charities, projects and individuals at its final round of funding for this year, bringing the total funds given out to support the residents of the Royal Borough to £110,000 in 2022.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGARDING BIKE DONATIONS
Thanks to everyone who has donated bikes thus far. We're over whelmed by the number donated and are working through a back log to service and safety check bikes before resale.
In the light of this we will not be able to accept anymore bike donations for the time being. Hopefully we will be able to receive bike donations in the New Year once the Bike Kitchen team has had time to evaluate our stocks.
Regards, the Bike Kitchen team

We've been asked to share this information from the RBWM Sports and Leisure team. The online Royal Borough More Active Survey will help the council team better understand resident's exercise habits and if you can easily access local sports and wellbeing facilities.
The survey is designed so that your responses are anonymous and will take only ten minutes to complete. Your feedback is crucial to pinpoint any barriers preventing you from being more physically active and using local leisure centres, and other facilities such as green spaces, to help them consider solutions to overcome these. Most importantly they also keen to hear from those of you who don’t currently use their leisure services to understand why.
They will use the survey’s findings, along with feedback from focus groups as well as stakeholders, to inform the Royal Borough’s future leisure provision which is due to discussed in the spring.
The survey can be found here: https://tinyurl.com/RoyalBoroughMoreActiveSurvey and closes at midnight on Wed 14 December 2022.
Public-access computers are available at all local libraries, where staff will be happy to help you get online if needed. If paper copies of the survey are required instead, these are also available from libraries on request.
