To achieve promotion, Danni needed to earn 100 contest points — either against players of the same grade or through results at World and European Championships.

For veteran female players, finding those opportunities is far from easy, with only a small number of women still competing at that level across the age and weight categories. Over the last few years this meant travelling extensively to find meaningful contests, picking up points in places including Ireland, Latvia and Poland and at World & European Championship events in Bosnia & France.
