This year I am doing something COMPLETELY out of my comfort zone and will be walking a marathon at night in aid of Cancer Research. Windsor Lawn Tennis Club will be hosting the:

THAMES VALLEY SENIORS TOURNAMENT, from the 5th - 9th September 2023.

The tournament will be played outdoors on multiple surface courts (artificial clay & poraflex).

Singles & Doubles events will take place on a knockout basis, plus elimination rounds if necessary.

This is a reminder we’re gearing up for our annual Windsor Open Tournament which will run from Sunday 16th to Saturday 22nd July. This is a Grade 3 tournament which attracts competitive players from across the UK and further afield.

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS
We've had a great response so far and many members have put their names down as court supervisors which is hugely appreciated by the club.
There's still some more slots we need to fill (ideally weekday afternoons), so if you're keen and available please contact the bar on 01753 830820 and they will advise.

MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, FRIDAY
Morning slot – 09.00-13.00
Afternoon slot – 13.00-17.00 - (most required)

Every year our members kindly volunteer as court supervisors during the week which involves supervising the matches and reporting any disputes to our tournament referees. You don’t need to have done this before and will be fed and watered throughout the day. We will confirm the rota for volunteer court supervisors in due course.

This year our tournament referee Janet Jamieson will be visiting the club THURSDAY 13TH JULY - 10AM - before the tournament week to talk to volunteers about the supervisor duties. We feel this will be very helpful so everyone understands what's required. All volunteers who've put their name down are welcome to attend.

CLUB SESSIONS & COURT AVAILABILITY - 16th-22nd JULY
Unfortunately, there will be no daytime club sessions during the week and it’s unlikely the evening sessions will be able to go ahead, due to the anticipated high number of entries. We will keep you updated throughout the week and if evening club sessions can go ahead, we will announce as early as possible. Courts will become available for you to book in the afternoons/evenings so do check your MYCOURTS account for the most up to date information. Courts will be released hourly so keep checking!

Our Club Championships Finals Day took place 25th June.

We were delighted to see so many of you at the club, either playing or spectating, which made it a brilliant atmosphere all day.

Junior Team Updates:

South & South West Tour - Downend & Frenchay Tennis Club - 9-4-2022, grade 5 10&U, the location changed to Painswick.
Arnav, our junior member played very well and won!

Our junior member, Aaryan, participated in the following event today (Sunday 03rd April);
Central & East Tour - White Horse Leisure & Tennis Centre - 3-4-2022, he was entered for both grade 5 - 8U and 9U on the same day.
He won 8U and later on the same day was runner-up 9U. He fought very hard!

The draw for the Windsor Club Closed 2022 is up in the clubhouse.
