07.11.21 - Reading Half Marathon ✅
🔔 New PB of 1:48:00! 🔔😀😀

Was such a great atmosphere! I couldn’t give it anymore than I did and had I no more energy left in the tank esp in the last mile. Felt a lot stronger physically 4 weeks prior to Budapest, but I know I still have more to give in another half. Just got to keep going 💪

Budapest Maraton®🇭🇺 ✅ and we’re both feeling absolutely elated!! I’m so happy to have broken the sub -4 mark and achieved an unbelievable new PB of 3:55:17! 🙌🙌😀😀

Prior to the race I had 3 goals in mind:
A - to beat my Brighton Marathon time of 4:52
B - to achieve sub -4.5 hours
C - to achieve sub -4 hours
and I smashed all 3 which I’m super chuffed with esp as it was touch a go last week with my toe! 🤣

Hanson’s plan didn’t disappoint me and made me the strongest runner I am today. All the training paid off. I felt strong the whole way round and had energy in the tank esp the last 6 miles. 💪

I just want to say firstly how proud I am of my husband Rob for running his first ever marathon today and a massive 🙏🙏 to everyone who has supported me in my training and on my journey towards raising money for in honour of my Mom & friend Lucy who I ran for - I have now raised $2642 when the target was $1500!! It’s been incredible. 😍 Thank you for your personal messages too, I know a few of you were tracking us during the race!

Also I want to 🙏 🐸 for all the help and support you’ve given me over the last 18 weeks as we really have been on a rollercoaster journey together and to .2 for your tips and advice on the plan. 😀

Last 🏃‍♀️✅ before the Budapest Marathon 🇭🇺

Can’t believe it’s been 4.5 years since I ran my first marathon . All the memories and feelings have come flooding back. 😍

Tomorrow will certainly be a very different experience running in 🇭🇺 and tomorrow I run in honour of my Mom & friend Lucy who have Parkinson’s disease.

🙏 so much to all those who have supported me along the way and donated to . I have now raised an incredible $2591 which is amazing! 🙌💗😍

And that’s it! My last tempo run before the Budapest Marathon! 🇭🇺 I’ve thoroughly enjoyed these runs and they have been my favourite in the Hanson plan. I’ve loved running at a faster pace whilst maintaining it over a set distance. Now it’s time to taper and do easy miles over the next 9 days. 🏃‍♀️😀

Budapest I’m comin’ to get ya! 😁

Look at what arrived today in the post from Parkinson's Foundation!! 🙏 so much!! 😀😀
I got quite emosh opening the box up and trying on my vest. I’m still totally gutted I won’t be able to run and meet all the other Parkinsons Champions in the 🇺🇸 (esp after yesterday’s news definitely confirmed the borders won’t open up in time) but I will do the charity and my supporters proud in BUDAPEST! 🇭🇺 💪👊

That’s 54.50 miles clocked up this week - the most I’ve ever run in a week and I feel 💪

is so different to my first marathon plan as I’ve only had to do x3 16 milers as opposed to progressing to x1 20 miler max but there has been a lot of running in the week to do including tempo runs and intervals as well as easy miles which means there’s already three workouts worth of fatigue in my 🦵!

The book states “So it’s not like running the first 16 miles of a marathon, it’s more like the last”.

Only time will tell if this theory works! Gotta trust the plan 💪

Preparing myself for the last long🏃‍♀️at the weekend.

On tonight’s run I thought about how much different my training is this time round compared to when I trained for my first marathon 4 years ago. I’ve learnt so much more since then and more importantly learnt more about myself and what I’m capable of.

With plans changing at short notice I have to stay focused. Last night I had a different mindset and didn’t feel my best mentally despite doing easy miles. We all have good and bad training days and have to take what we can from them. 💪

🚨 MARATHON UPDATE!! 🚨

With less than 4 weeks to go and the 🇺🇸 boarders still shut to British citizens, sadly leaves us no alternative than to prepare for plan b!

So myself and Rob have now entered the 🇭🇺 Budapest Maraton® Run in Budapest as a fall back which is the same date as the Chicago Marathon 2021.

We’ve come this far and done 15 weeks of training, so there’s no way in hell we are giving up now! However we know that anything can happen in the next 3 weeks so we will see if miracles do happen 🤞

Thank you 🙏 for all your support and sponsorship so far - I have totally smashed my target and have now raised $2198! 🙌 The funds will still go towards Parkinson's Foundation in helping improve those lives who are suffering with the disease. 😊
