WINDSOR RFC: U16 OBB Division 1 Match Report- Friday 20th December 19:00- Maidenhead U16A v Windsor U16A
Windsor travelled to Maidenhead for a Friday Night Lights special in the OBB Div 1 league, nerves were high after a couple close losses in the league, knowing this was a must win game. A large crowd greeted the boys as they ran onto the field, Windsor supporters had turned up in numbers though including a strong contingent from the Colts side to cheer them on.
Maidenhead came firing out of the blocks scoring a powerful try in the first two minutes, the boys didn’t panic though and returned the favour scoring off the restart, game on! Maidenhead had the better of the tight exchanges, but the speed and footwork of the Windsor backline grew in ascendancy with the deadeye boot of Thomas Schofield (10) keeping Maidenhead pinned back and the scoreboard ticking.
Lawson Horler added a try following an initial powerful surge from his co-captain James Gibb, Windsors fitness and speed was beginning to tell. Thomas Shepherd added two tries from his wing, ghosting through the defence untouched for his second.

🚨 TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨
Here are your 1s and DXV teams for tomorrow’s Christmas fixtures.
The 1s set the tone by naming one of the strongest teams of the season, to face Bicester. Although there are a few changes across the team, there are certainly a number of familiar faces who have already featured heavily during the first half of the season.
The DXV squad traveling to Bracknell is equally as impressive, with a wealth of talent and good vibes ready to do a number on the local rivals. With Bracknell doing well in the league there is a great opportunity to cause a big upset.
The League Lunch is a sell out too so the clubhouse will be pumping before and after the game. So get down and cheer on the lads in style for the last game of 2024. Christmas jumpers are strongly encouraged.
As always thanks to club sponsor , shirt sponsor and sleeve sponsor .
LET’S GO WINDSOR!

WRFC: Weekly Round Up & This Weekends activities 21st & 22nd Dec 2024: Men’s 1st XV & Dev XVs both win at Reading.
Last weekend the Men’s 1st XV, Dev XV and Senior Women were all in league action after missing a week due to Storm Darragh.
Last Saturday the Men’s 1st XV and Dev XVs both travelled to Reading for their latest league matches with two strong squads.
The Men’s 1st XV put in a strong first half performance and went into the break 38 points to 7 up.
The second half ,however, was a different story as Windsor seemed to lose their fluency and shape against a Reading side that never gave up.
As a consequence Windsor were only able to add one more converted try in the second half with Reading adding the same.
Final Score Reading 14, Windsor 45;
The Men’s 1st XV remain in third place in the league behind unbeaten Oxford Harlequins and Chinnor 3rd XV, although Windsor do have a game in hand on both sides.
This Saturday the Men’s XV host Bicester in their last league match of 2024 when they will be looking to finish 2024 in a positive manner.
