Next week is Drowning Prevention Week.
At Tom Dean Swim School, we’re proud to be visiting 50+ schools across the UK, delivering interactive water safety assemblies and sharing powerful educational videos with secondary schools and colleges.
Our mission is simple: help young people understand the dangers of open water and give them the knowledge to stay safe this summer and beyond.
Together, we can help save lives through education, awareness, and prevention.

We’re proud to announce triple Olympic gold medallist Tom Dean as RLSS UK’s celebrity ambassador.
This landmark partnership is driven by one goal: helping more people enjoy the water safely and confidently. As accidental drowning remains a leading cause of preventable death, spreading clear, lifesaving advice has never been more important.
On 17 June, Tom will support RLSS UK’s Drowning Prevention Week with a water safety education event hosted by Tom Dean Swim School in Maidenhead. More than 500 pupils from six local primary schools will receive essential knowledge through live rescue demonstrations by the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Follow along to see the impact this partnership will make.
🎥 We’re inviting media to be part of the day and help amplify this vital, lifesaving message. Interested in attending or covering the event? Contact our Marketing team at [email protected] to get involved.

A review from a parent is brilliant. A review from a swim teacher who’s also a parent….Even better. ⭐

Around 400 people drown in open water every year in the UK, which is why Tom Dean Swim School has launched a water safety and drowning prevention campaign to help educate young people and families throughout the summer.
So far, we have:
• 50 schools booked for water safety assemblies across the UK, reaching over 10,000 young people
• 5,000+ swimmers in our programme taking part in water safety lessons
• Free and discounted swimming sessions for 13–17 year olds with selected pool partners to help keep them swimming in safe pools
• Paid social media adverts with water safety messaging running throughout the summer
• A live water safety rescue demonstration with the fire service, filmed in front of an audience of 600 young people
• Attending summer fairs and community events to help spread awareness
• Leaflets, banners and water safety messaging being displayed in hotspots across the UK throughout the summer
Our message is simple:
“Don’t become a memory.”
