Anyone know approx water temperature this week?
Thank you for a great sporty swim this morning, rather choppy but the water was lovely and warm :-)
What’s the water temperature today? Are wetsuits permitted?
Marlow Lake opened for swimming today at 5pm

Will Bray be following suit soon?
Thanks for organising today so we could still swim but keep our social distance.
Thanks for a great event on Sunday. Really enjoyed it. Are you going to put the photos on this page? Thx

The Boulter’s To Bray swim is held annually in Maidenhead in July. The proceeds from the swim are donated to the The Boulter’s to Bray Swim Trust. The Trust is a registered charity with an objective to ‘promote community participation in healthy recreation and physical activity by making grants to help promote amateur sport in Maidenhead and the surrounding areas’. Each year we award grants to individuals or groups in the community for sport-related pursuits and activities. This year we have a total grant pot of £1,500 that we are looking to award to one or more individuals or groups in Maidenhead and the surrounding areas. In previous years we have awarded the grant to a group using sport to help with mental health matters, to a young carer to help pay for her dance lessons, to a couple of ladies who organise buggyfit running groups to encourage new parents to get out and active and to a young swimming instructor to help her pay for further training.

Applications for this year’s grant are open. Do you know of anyone (individual or group) who could benefit from our grant? Please encourage them to apply at: http://boulterstobrayswim.org/ Applications close on 29th February.
Perhaps for somebody here?! :)

Happy New Year from all of us! And a reminder that Bray Lake Open Water Swimming re-opens Saturday morning. See you soon!

We would like to say a massive well done to one of our regular swimmers Laura, who completed a Channel swim on 18th July 2023.
In mixed conditions, Laura completed the swim in 12 hours, 38 minutes arriving in France in darkness.
Congratulations on your amazing achievement, Laura.
Anyone fancy giving it a go next?

A group of our amazing Bray Lake swimmers have recently completed the Geneva Relay in 25 hours and 31 minutes which is the fastest recorded time in 2023 so far.
Aided by extremely hot, but calm conditions they swam an average of 3km per hour.
They celebrated with some egg and bacon bagels taking their traditional Bray Lake post swim refreshments to need places.
Congratulations on your fantastic achievement.

It’s great to see so many people at the lake enjoying our open water swim sessions.
To help these sessions run smoothly and safely we would like to remind all swimmers of the following points:
• You must be a current registered user and pre-book your swim session online.
• If your registration has expired, please renew the existing account, do not complete a brand new registration.
• If you have been issued with a Bray Lake card, please bring it with you or request one from reception, this enables us to sign you in quickly.
• Please remember to take all your personal belongings home with you after your swim.
• For your safety, swim around the designated swim routes, stay as close as possible to these routes.
• It is imperative to your safety and the safety of other swimmers that you sight on a regular basis. If you hit someone it is your fault. Please stop to check the other swimmer is ok before moving on.
• Please remember some of our swimmers may not be as strong or as fit as you or maybe recovering from injury or illness. Some may have been in the water a lot longer than you. Please be courteous to your fellow swimmers.
• Repeat offenders will be asked to leave the lake.
• Please be aware there are sharp stones / shells both on the approach and in the water. Please wear appropriate footwear and tread carefully.

14/06/2023

Simon, Cat, Scott, Phoebe and Sarah are swapping their normal roles, running open water sessions to being the people swimming, to take part in the Thames Hospice Open Water Swim Challenge.
They are aiming to complete the 5km Team Relay and you may have spotted them during swim sessions doing some training. Whilst they are used to swimming after their water sports kit, swimming a distance will be a challenge.
They are hoping to raise money for this great cause to help the Hospice continue their amazing work.
We would be really grateful for any donations to sponsor the team with their swim challenge.
