In April this year Winslow Bowls Club started fundraising for a special powered wheelchair for use on the bowling green and 6 sets of junior bowls to help make the sport accessible to more people.
HUGE THANKS go to all those who have supported this campaign to increase accessibility to bowls, including Sport England, a number of members in the club as well as many individuals and organisations outside, and we have purchased and received the powered chair, sets of junior bowls and bowls cases which are now already in use.

40 WBC members, family and friends enjoyed a great evening of 'Cheese & Wine' tasting, hosted by The Farm Deli, Winslow.
Sue presented a carefully chosen cheese and wine pairings, 5 wines paired with 5 cheeses and we enjoyed an evening of fine flavours and good company.

Preparing the green for 'Green Opening Day 2026'.
7th April: Lovely weather but pretty hard work this morning. Mower cut reduced from 10mm to 6mm and now we are using the reverse groomer. We did a first cut, our contractor the verticut and then we did another cut.
We filled both the brown bins and multiple extra grass boxes, never done that before!
My team today on the green, Alan, Mick and Steve. We are cutting again on Thursday with Alan and again for final preparation on Friday with Les. Lots of other tasks to do so everyone welcome. Rosie will get the changing rooms ready on Friday. Calling all hands! - As we start the new season there will be even more for us to do on and around the Green

Please join us for a friendly coffee morning to raise funds for a power chair supporting bowls players with mobility issues.

Because sport is for everyone. Bowls is recognised as one of the most accessible and integrated sports, and it can be played by almost anyone, with or without a disability.

Winslow Bowls Club will hold an OPEN DAY SATURDAY 25th APRIL. Bowling is a sport played in a very social atmosphere where you can spend time with your family and friends and enjoy some friendly competitions.

Winslow Bowls Club (WBC) is pleased to announce that Gigaclear will continue to provide free internet access for club members and the organisations who regularly hire the WBC clubhouse.
The Gigaclear Community Hub Scheme is designed to support community services in the rural areas where Gigaclear is building its network.

Our annual 'Presentation Lunch' took place on the 25th October at the Bell Hotel in Winslow.
We were all welcomed by our club Chairman, Pete Joyner, and after lunch, which included "The Bell's Famous Three Mear Carvery", enjoyed a short summary of the 2025 bowling competition events by Competitions Secretary, Roger Hayman.
All competitions were concluded at our 'Finals Weekend' on the 5th, 6th and 7th of September, and the competition winners were all looking forward to the awards presentation by our President, Cliff Geary.

Last Match of the Season 2025
AUSSIE PAIRS

Lawn bowling is a really popular sport in Australia, and there are many exciting formats to suit a wide variety of players. Perhaps one of the favorite formats is 'Aussie pairs.' This style of lawn bowling provides an exciting combination of strategy, skill, and teamwork.
On Saturday the 4th of October, we concluded the the outdoor bowling season with a fun match in the 'Aussie pairs' format.
Although it was a windy day with rain threatening clouds overhead, 20 members of the club came together to enjoy an afternoon game of bowls. Player scores are examined at the end of the game, and the player with the most points is declared the winner.
Our President, Cliff Geary, presented the 'Aussies Pairs Trophy' to the winner but on this occasion, it was shared by Steve Church and Tony Burrows. A very enjoyable match, and a fun way to conclude the outdoor bowling season!

The successfull participants in our internal competitions have reached the finals stage. Congratulations to all our finalists.
Thank you to all the players for playing entertaining bowls and some close contests. Thank you to the green management team, to the volunteers for marking singles matches, and for the photos taken to record each match. A special thank you to our President, Cliff Geary, for presenting the trophies and to the appreciative spectators for their support.
