Good luck to Grace, Elsa, Darcie, Florence and Florrie who make up Team Essex in today’s East Region Junior Trophy.

Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambs & Hunts, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire all travel to our host club Theydon Bois, for a day of team stableford competition.

We’re sending good luck wishes up to Derbyshire for this weekends England Golf Champion Club tournament.

36 holes of strokeplay at Kedleston Park GC await Zak, Josh and Alan of Colchester Golf Club.

Colchester were our winning team at the Essex Amateur Championship and won the opportunity to test themselves against all the other clubs around the country.

Thorpe Hall’s Ollie McEvoy and Chelmsford’s Maybel Brooks have both been selected to represent England U16’s next month.

Congrats go to both Ollie and Maybel who have had a fantastic 2026 and thoroughly deserve their call ups. 💪

We knew today’s Seniors Team Plate Final would be tight and with 7 matches over, the scores were tied at 3.5 points each.

Boyce Hill picked up match 8 up the 18th hole only for Braintree to do the same in match 9.

So with one match remaining and the scores tied, it came down to the final match of Mark Keane off 12 for Boyce Hill v Andy Matthews also off 12 for Braintree.

Another close battle eventually yielded a winner with Andy coming away with a 2&1 victory meaning Braintree are our 2026 Seniors Team Plate Champions, big congratulations. 👏

Commiserations go out to Boyce Hill who played their part in a fantastic final and of course, we owe a huge thanks to Thorndon Park for hosting a wonderful day for all.

We’ve another final today with the Seniors Team Plate Final taking place at the fabulous Thorndon Park Golf Club.

Braintree and Boyce Hill both came through tight matches in their semi-finals, both score-lines finishing 5.5-4.5.

Consequently, we’re expecting another close match up and who knows, might Sundays play-off drama in the Norman Plum final be repeated?

Our final Order of Merit table is now complete and a huge congratulations to Josh Hussein once again for topping the list. 🏆

Josh has had a fantastic year, showcasing an incredibly consistent pattern of scoring across his 19 Essex Golf order of merit rounds of 2026. His stroke average for his Essex events finished at 72.26. 👏

After winning the first event of the year, The Keating Trophy, he didn’t let up and recorded another win along with 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place finishes, all in just 9 events.

Great work and a worthy order of merit champion.

Bailee Curran, Shaun Mills, Adam Scallon and Frankie Morton complete the top 5 for the year and a total of 99 players picked up points.

Crondon Park Women’s section have had quite the week.

First of all, Team Crondon defeated Stoke By Nayland in the Munro Foursomes Final at Benton Hall, congrats to Kate Moss, Nicola Iles and Lorna Parsons for your collective victory.

Then just a week later, the Crondon Park Silver Trophy Team overcame Romford in the Silver Trophy Final held at Orsett Golf Club.

Congrats to all the players of Crondon Park and of course, congratulations must also go to Stoke By Nayland and Romford for reaching the finals.

Finally, a big thank you to both Benton Hall and Orsett for hosting our latest women’s finals.

Some finals are over quickly, others take a little longer.

Either way most finals offer drama and the 2026 Norman Plum Final offered more excitement and drama than most.

After 7 hours of golf, Royal Epping Forest managed to win by way of a playoff at the 2nd extra hole.

Hard luck to Ingrebourne Links but huge congrats to Royal Epping Forest.

A fitting way to end a wonderful season of Norman Plum competition golf.

The late Norman Plum will be looking down fondly.
