Weekend Results!
Unfortunately neither result going Swifts way this weekend, but it wasn’t for a lack of effort! Losing the toss, the 1s bowled well against league leaders Sandford, with Graeme Woodward bowling brilliantly with figures of 4-28 from his 17 overs. In reply, a good start from swifts put pressure back on the bowlers, but a few quick wickets swung things back into Sandfords favour. Ben Horne headed to the crease with Swifts 81-7, and was able to go against the momentum alongside Redd Pratley and produce an excellent 55, getting swifts within 4 of victory. A big shot down the ground to seal it was well taken by Ash Horne, to give league leaders another clutch victory.
For the 2s, a good bowling display, led by young loanee Viv Ogale’s 5-fer, restricted promotion chasing Wroxton to 188. Much is the way this season, the bat let the 2s down, with only Jack Rideout showing resistance with 21 not out. The 2s finished on 101 all out, but go against next week!
