Friday night was all about celebrating an incredible season at our End of Season Awards & Dinner 🏉✨

It was so special to have the whole club together — amazing food, great company, and definitely plenty of drinks! A huge thank you to our wonderful club and bar team for putting on such a lovely evening 💙

Massive congratulations to all our award winners — so well deserved! Our Angels winners are:
🏆 Best Newcomer: Lily Cope
🏆 Most Improved Player: Sadie Andrews
🏆 Club Person of the Year: Ailsa Shaw
🏆 Coaches Player: Izzy Barker
🏆 Players Player: Hettie McNally

And a very special shoutout to our incredible captain, Sarah Pentecost 💫 After leading us for the past few seasons (and being part of the club for 17 years!), she’s stepping down from captaincy. We’re so lucky she’s not going far and will be taking on the role of Team Manager next season 🙌 Thank you for everything, Sarah — your impact on this team is huge 💙

🏃🏻‍♀️Eeek Marathon Weekend is here! 🏃🏻‍♀️

In just two days time Witney angels Steph and Sarah are running the Manchester marathon!

Having taken up running in the off season they have set themselves the ultimate challenge. Training through various weather conditions they are racking up the miles with a half marathon their furthest distance to date🤩

Sarah wanted to challenge herself and run a marathon before she turned 50 whereas Steph is raising money for Alzheimer’s Society after seeing the daily battle those with the condition face and supporting friends and family through this time.

Congratulations to our very own Ella Scarffe who has been named in the RAF women’s rugby squad for tomorrow’s fixture against the Royal Navy!👏🏻

Having come up through our Cherubs and Angels pathway, we couldn’t be prouder of Ella and this incredible achievement. From being the Angels youngest ever captain, to playing anywhere from front row to fly half in the same game when required, we know Ella will make a massive impact during tomorrow’s game🤩

It has been an honour to watch her successes on and off the pitch and we are so excited for the next steps she is taking in her professional and playing career💪

From all of us at the Angels and wider Witney Rugby Club community, good luck Ella and we are so proud of you😇💙🖤
