Look whose back!! Super proud of Skylar and Caitlyn who have just returned from Berlin after attending the WKU (GCO) England World Championships!! We are SO proud of them!! Returning with 4 x Bronze and 1 x Silver between them from their different Forms categories - they have done so well! It takes huge courage to step onto the mats let alone on a World stage. We can't wait to see where their journey takes them next but we know they're going far!! Well done girls!! Your MXA family couldn't be prouder!

Bear with us - it's a long one but worth the read!!

As a coach, one of the things we hear all the time is how difficult it can be to get children off their screens.

But every week we get to see something really special. We get to watch children of all ages walk through our doors and become part of something that's so much bigger than martial arts.

Some of the friendships that have been built on our mats are incredible. They support each other at competitions, celebrate each other's successes, train together, and before you know it they're arranging to meet up outside the dojo too.

There's a real sense of belonging, and I don't think you can put a price on that.

It's never just about learning to kick and punch. It's about setting goals, working hard, overcoming setbacks and achieving things they never thought possible. It's about finding confidence, building resilience, becoming stronger both physically and mentally, and discovering what they're capable of.

This year alone we've had six of our students selected to represent England at the ICO and WKU World Championships. Watching children realise that they can achieve things like that through commitment and perseverance is something I'll never get tired of.

But if I'm honest, it's not even the medals or the England selections that make me proudest.

It's looking around the dojo and seeing children laughing together, encouraging one another, celebrating each other's achievements and building genuine friendships. Seeing parents become friends too. Seeing students who might never have met otherwise become part of one big community.

In a world where so much interaction happens through a screen, there's something incredibly wholesome about watching children spend hours together, learning, growing, challenging themselves and simply enjoying each other's company.

I never take that for granted.

Watching our students grow—not just as martial artists, but as kind, confident young people—is one of the best parts of what we do.

It's a reminder that sometimes all children need is somewhere they feel they belong.

What an incredible weekend at the K2! We are still counting up the final medal tally but honestly - wherever we placed I am so so proud of every single one of our MXA Warriors who stepped onto the mat for Forms, Light Con and Points. You left it all on the mat, you listened to your coaches, you stepped up, you dug deep and you walked away knowing you'd given it your all. We couldn't ask for more. From our first timers through to our seasoned competitors - you did us proud! Each competition we see your improvements, your hard work is paying off. Thank you so so much for stepping in to help coach when needed - we are so privileged to have your sage advice. - what an exceptional event, so well organised and put together - already looking forward to supporting next years!! And lastly - but definitely not least - - you are an absolute rockstar!! The work you put in, the care you show, the hours you spend pouring over strategy, session plans, competiton prep etc... we are so thankful to have you, you are a true inspiration!!!
