Customer brought his bike in this morning regarding his gears being very stiff to change, and his chain coming off.

On closer inspection, the rear derailleur was completely gunked up and the gears required a new cable.

Now most people would have just fitted a new derailleur and that would be the end, but as I couldnt get an exact replacement due to the age of bike, the customer had asked me if I could rebuild his old unit, as he wanted to keep the bike original.

All rebuilt, new gear cable and shifting perfectly, love it when a plan comes together 👌🏻

The customer just wanted to have new tubes put in, but we advised to have sealant put into the tubes to try prevent any further punctures.

The revolution of ebikes has taken over, but don't forget that all that power is putting more stress on components.

Full strip down on this customers bike today, it had seen many miles out on the road commuting to work, a new chain and a good degrease of all components has made the bike feel like new.
