Pre season friendly - Sunday 30th August

Old Oak 2-1 East Park FC

Very good performance from the boys against a good division 1 side in the form of the old oak.

East Park could have taken an early lead when Luke Picken was put through 1 on 1 only to see his shot saved by the goalkeepers legs. Shortly afterwards old oak took the lead when the ball bobbled around the penalty area and fell to the feet of the old oak number 9 who made no mistake with a low finish.

East Park no 1 Ducky then produced a top class save to keep the score at 1-0 when he flew to his right hand side to palm away a free kick that was destined for the top corner.

Half time - Old Oak 1-0 East Park

Early into the second half & there were some meaty challenges flying about in the middle of the park with both teams picking up yellow cards. A contentious moment then arose with a tangle between the old oak centre forward & East Park centre half Martin resulting in the referee awarding a penalty to old oak which was calmly slotted away to make it 2-0 to the hosts.

With 10 minutes to go, East Park were awarded a free kick out on the left flank which was floated in by Aaron Fury & met by Jay Stewart who floated his header over the goalkeeper to give East Park hope.

We continued to knock on the door but Old Oak stood firm

Collins Aerospace 5-1 East Park FC

First pre-season friendly for the boys against a very good Collins team, everyone getting a good 45 mins+ under their belt. We go again this weekend!
