🗞️🗞️ Match Report 🗞️🗞️

In our final game of the season and very last game as a team we had long trip to face Stratford Town knowing a win would guarantee a 3rd place finish in the league. With a near full squad available for selection we went into the game full of confidence.

The game started slowly with lots of misplaced passes and very little being created until the 10th minute when Faye was put through but dragged her effort wide, the second opportunity came minutes later when a corner from the left just missed Lana’s head at the near post. As momentum began to build further efforts from Tilly and Faye sailed over the bar and Faye hit the crossbar with another effort. Another opportunity for Faye saw the keeper tip the effort over the bar but the deadlock was finally broken when Tilly won a free kick 25 yards from goal, Faye’s strike took a nasty bounce to deceive the keeper and find the back of the net, the second soon followed when Jess stepped into the midfield to intercept the ball and slotted a perfect pass into Faye’s path who fired home into the bottom corner.

HT 0:2

For the second half as promised Simon began to ring the changes but it didnt stop the girls quickly adding a 3rd when a neat ball from Lana found Lilly who fired home. Some poor defending allowed Stratford to Pull one back with a nice finish giving Ellyn no chance.
Within a few minutes of the restart Wulfs won a corner, after the ball initially didnt make the box Mia picked it up wide to swing in a lovely cross which was met perfectly on the volley From Miah to find the bottom corner. Stratford didn’t let their heads go down and got a second to keep them in the game.

Simon continued to ring the changes with Faye and Tilly Pairing up at the back and Millie and Erica playing in attack, with the game opening up chances continued to be created, Mia put Lana through who pulled her effort wide, Ada thought she had got her name on the score sheet only for Ref to dissalow for a handball in the build up and Tilly stepping out from the back had a long range effort which was tipped wide by the goalkeeper. The 5th came when Millie got in behind Stratford defence and slotted the ball past the onrushing keeper to trickle over the line.
Ellyn had a run out up front for final few minutes with Mya covering in goal, Wulfs almost added a 6th when Ella’s through ball found Ada who’s effort just went wide.

FT 2:5

Lots of tears and emotions at the end mainly from Simon as a chapter comes to an end.

🗞️🗞️ Match Report 25 April 2026 🗞️🗞️

This week we hosted Bromsgrove sporting in our final home game of the season. With several absentees Simon went into the game with a bare eleven which was always going to be tough in such warm conditions.
The game started relativity slowly with neither team creating much or maintaining any kind of possession. Wulfs created the first major chance of the game when Lilly cut in from left to only to see her strike come back of the near post.
The opening goal of the game came mid way through the half when Faye latched onto a ball over the top to compose herself and fine home into the bottom corner. Wulfs thought they should have have had a penalty shortly after when it appeared the Bromsgrove Centre half had handled the ball just inside the box but the referee deemed it to be accidental and waved play on.

HT 1:0

The second half started very slowly as the heat kicked in and the lack of options from the bench ment the girls needed to dig deep as Bromsgrove looked to get back in the game. Wulfs created Several half chances with the best chance falling to Faye who got in behind again but couldnt quite beat the onrushing keeper. Millie then made one of her trademark runs forward and after covering 60yards couldnt quite find the final ball when she got into the box.
As the girls began to tire Bromsgrove started to find some space and create some chances of their own and the equaliser came when a corner swung in and wasn’t dealt with and Bromsgrove striker found herself free at the back post to side foot home.
A late rally from Wulfs failed to yield a late winner with Faye coming closest with a long range effort just over the bar.
