PLAYERS WANTED…

⚽️Coseley Tavern ⚽️was formed three years ago but is a club that has been in existence for over ten years. The first team is currently playing in Division 4 of the Wolverhampton and District Sunday League. 🐺

We have a well-established base at the Coseley Tavern Pub in Wolverhampton and a supportive sponsor, who has been with the club for the last 2 years. The football club is financially sound in amateur terms, with good financial management and a sponsor who in normal times lay on social events for all.

We are looking to add good quality, committed and reliable players to the team for the 2021-22 season 💪🏽🏆💪🏽

All positions will be considered, but we are particularly interested in CENTRE BACKS, LEFT BACK/WING and CENTRE FORWARDS to help strengthen current areas of improvement.

Home games will be played in Wolverhampton for the 2021-22 season.

Please give me a call or drop me a message if you are interested in joining a progressive football club who are looking to develop and build something together.

Pre season training starts Sunday 18th July.

The club can confirm that following a collaborative investigation with West Midlands Police, the suspicious looking male riding his bike along the canal path was our very own, Owen Munday.

Local residents were concerned and distressed, especially when he began taking photos of himself on the floor, which is a popular location for ‘dog walkers’.

Munday has since apologised, insisting he is “wheelie sorry” and that he was “two-tired”, which caused him to collapse on the canal verge.

He’s also apologised to his team mates for waking them up at 06:30hrs on the clubs private WhatsApp group.

Tell me why, I don’t like Mundays 🎤🎹

Jungle Juice 2-4 Coseley Tavern Athletic

Tav roared in the jungle today after a superb performance all round against the league leaders.

Limited numbers due to injuries and other duties meant Alex Moczadlo, now known as 'the covering one', was required to step into the dugout.

An early goal from Andy Smith put the visitors infont before they were pegged back from a free kick on the edge of the box.

The lads continued to to create chances and were unlucky to only be 3-1 up at the break after two more delightful finishes from Smith.

Limited numbers and fitness required in some departments meant Tav were up against it in the second half. The home side pulled one back before James Turley restored the two goal cushion with a 30 yard free kick that deceived both defender and goalkeeper.

The points were put beyond doubt when Aidan Cox saved a spot kick after a soft decision from the referee.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT

Coseley Tavern Athletic have also condemned the idea of a Euro Super League and will be standing by the Wolverhampton Sunday Football League for the 2021/22 season.

Club secretary Tom Beasley had the following to say on the matter:
"Real Madrid didn't want to come to Coseley in pre-season last year, so they can shove the invite up their galactico".

Coseley Tavern Athletic 3-1 Wombourne Athletic

A much needed friendly fixture for the lads this week as we searched for some end-of-season form.

A penalty apiece, dispatched for Tav by Jack Finch as usual, and a bizarre outswinging corner that made it's way directly in from Ben Franklin put Tav 2-1 at half time.

Changes at the break saw Nick 'the cat' Perry go in goal for the second week running, to which he made two fantastic saves.

A third goal from manager Aaron Osborne was required for Tav to put the game to bed due to Damon Drury missing the games third spot kick.

A sad week for Tav however, as Dom Wills played his final game in the red and black stripes.

We would like to wish Dom all the best as he moves on to pastures new. The current Young Player of the Season wore the captains armband with pride today and will always be welcomed back to the Tav. We will miss him very much.

Coseley Tavern Athletic 1-2 Woodman Inn

A disappointing morming for Tav. A scruffy, yet somehow neat finish from Adam Wright put the lads ahead, but we were unable to see the game out and fell to a defeat.

AFC Perton 1-1 Coseley Tavern Athletic

The long awaiting return to action saw an impressive performance from the lads this morning.

A first goal for Dickie Chinn put the Tav ahead midway through the first half. Only a wonder strike shortly after the hour put the hosts back on level terms.

The lads looked resolute in defence, forcing the home side to try their luck from distance.

At the other end, Tav should have made it more in the second half. Matt Watson with the pick of the chances, but saw his effort blaze over the bar. Matt was quickly reminded that at this time of year, it is the Lord that is supposed to rise, not a size 5 over the bar.

Tav also felt as though they should have had a couple of penalties but the ref deemed otherwise.
