Just a gentle reminder that the West Mids Schools Champs nomination form (see link below) for athletes whose area did not host a regional qualifier, whose year group was not represented at a qualifier or whose school did not attend the qualifier, will close next Tuesday 2nd June at midnight, so please make sure athletes get their nominations in. Athletes can double up - maximum 1 track & 1 field event - this will help your area to score points. Also please remember that there are short hurdle races for U16's (yr 9&10 only) and U18's (yr11&12 only) so 6th formers in yr12 can compete in the hurdles. Team manager details are on the "Area Managers" tab of the wmsaa website.

Please find below the link to the forthcoming West Mids Schls T&F Champs at Tipton with full instructions, T/T plus information on any area qualifiers that we have been made aware of. Please ensure athletes liaise with their school or area manager. Please arrive at least 45mins-1hour before your event in order to register, pick up your number and leave enough time for a warm-up. Registration will take place in the main stand on the home straight. Athletes can double up and compete in 2 events (1 track and 1 field only).
(*) The Google nomination form is only to be completed by athletes where a) an area does not have qualifiers at all (e.g. NBham), b) if the school/athlete does not/cannot participate in or attend the qualifier or, c) if the year group is not represented at all at a qualifier). If an area receives more than 2 nominations for an event the team manager is responsible for picking the strongest 2 athletes to fill the 2 spots for each event. There will be in effect an A-string and a B-string, so in races with 2 heats the fastest will run in heat 1 and the other athlete will be in heat 2. Guests will only be allowed if an area has not filled their quota in an event.
There will be 4 new age-group short hurdle races (U16G 80mH, U16B 100mH, U18G 100mH, U18B 110mH) introduced in line with England Athletics new age-group changes implemented on 1st April. We would like to see them well-supported!
