Chubb Angling Club

So it’s over and out from my dad, Keith Woodbridge now. The pool has officially been handed back into the landowners hands, however for you members, it’s still yours to use when you want! Are we disappointed of course it was his baby for 35 years! Bloody sweat and tears went into this hole in the ground below to develop what you have today. All he wanted was to give you a happy place to unwind and enjoy! I think he managed it and some!
With lots of help along the way, some of these lovely people are also watching over you. Some of them are still around and deserve a thank you for the years off Keith! For the hard work, the laughs, the sometimes arguments, the fishing and the holidays over the years too.
I’m sure at some time most of you have been through our home as there was often a fisherman just popping in!
Myself and mom did the best we could for you and my dad. I hope he’d be proud. We grieve for the end of his love for the pool and club alongside our grief for him.

So now all that’s left to say is goodbye from Keith and tight lines 🎣

Hello all, as of Monday the left sided path will be closed due to it not being fit for purpose, all pegs will be open but you will need to walk across a temporary path way please be careful. Many thanks Kev 👍

Hello All, it’s Keith’s daughter Kerry. For anyone who wishes to know about dads funeral, it will be taking place on Tuesday 23rd March at 12pm at the West Chapel at Bushbury Crem. Dad will be leaving home at 11:30 am. Due to current restrictions we are only allowed 15 to attend the funeral, anyone who wishes to pay their respects outside our home or the crem is welcome but please adhere to social distancing rules. We have a link available for anyone who wishes to watch the service online please contact me for this if you want it. Those who know dad know he hates to waste money so it will be flowers from his girls only. We will be accepting donations on his behalf for the wonderful ICU team who fought so hard for him in his final weeks. I will send more information about this nearer the time. It is with great pleasure that I can announce we can still fish the pool after 31st March. We are not losing the pool it will be just under a new agreement with the Estate. Enjoy yourselves and stay safe.

Government have lifted the restrictions on the fishing so from tomorrow the pool will be open, even though the pool is frozen over
Please obey the rules of the lockdown

Angling Trust just put statement out that Angling from the cabinet that Angling will be banned while on Lockdown
So padlock will be going on morning
Hopefully if we all keep to the rules we should be back on the bank in the near future
In the mean time you can still get your permits ready for the off
