The Heart of the Game – In Loving Memory of Bernie. In 1996, our dad Bernie passed away suddenly from a heart attack.
To mark 30 years since we lost him, we’re organising a special event: A Charity Cricket and Family Fun Day, to raise money for charity.

The support for Bernies Big Bash just keeps growing, and we’re thrilled to announce that two true legends of England Rugby have thrown their support behind our event.
A huge thank you to Ben Youngs and Dan Cole – former Leicester Tigers, England, and British & Irish Lions stars – for supporting our efforts to raise money for the British Heart Foundation in memory of Bernie.
Between them, Ben and Dan have amassed hundreds of England caps, multiple Premiership titles, and represented the very best of British rugby on the biggest stage. To have their support means a great deal to Bernie’s family, our committee, and everyone involved in making this event a success.

We are absolutely delighted to have the support of former Wolverhampton Wanderers FC legend Mel Eves, who has kindly recorded a special video message in support of Bernies Big Bash.
Mel is a true Wolves great and a well-respected figure in the local sporting community, so it means a great deal to Bernie’s family and everyone involved with the event that he has taken the time to support our fundraising efforts.

Fancy adding a little extra excitement to the next Football World Cup while supporting a fantastic cause?
We’re running a World Cup Sweepstake to raise money for the British Heart Foundation in memory of our much-missed Bernie.
🎟️ £10 per team / entry
🏆 Prizes:
🥇 1st Place – £100
🥈 2nd Place – £50
🥉 3rd Place – £25
This brilliant fundraising idea comes from Harlan, Bernie’s grandson, who sadly never got the chance to meet his Grandad. Through Bernies Big Bash and all of our fundraising efforts, we’re keeping Bernie’s memory alive while helping fund vital research into heart disease and heart conditions.
Every entry helps us move one step closer to our fundraising target and supports the incredible work carried out by the British Heart Foundation.

• Teams will be allocated once all entries are sold
• Cash prizes for the top three teams at the end of the tournament
• All remaining proceeds go directly to the British Heart Foundation
