Another busy Sunday for our Wombourne Allstars mixed teams, with plenty of great football, hard work and brilliant individual performances across the club.
🐾 WANDERERS
A brilliant performance from the boys today.
There was so much to be pleased with and it was great to see so much of what they’ve been working on in training coming through in the game.
Some fantastic passing, movement, pressure and moments of real quality throughout. The result didn’t go their way, but the performance and progress certainly did.
Coaches’ and Parents’ Player: AB, with a superb all-round performance. His leadership, energy and work rate were outstanding, he was involved all over the pitch and topped it off with a brilliant finish into the top corner. 👏🔥

🐝 HORNETS
A huge well done to Amelia, our Player of the Match for the Hornets today.
Amelia showed a brilliant attitude throughout, worked hard, got herself into some great positions and never gave up.
Her positivity and determination were fantastic to see 👏🐝

😎 U8 MAVERICKS
The Mavericks made their customary slow start away at Stourbridge before settling into the game and producing some lovely football.
The excellent pitch really suited the Mavericks’ game and they made full use of the width while keeping their shape. Crisp passing and clever movement created chance after chance, with many of the goals coming from moves the boys built together.

A great second-half fighting spirit from the Raptors today.
Player of the Match: Olly, with a never-give-up attitude and two great free kicks.
WLV Sponsors’ Player: Dylan, for his work rate, determination and never-give-up attitude, topped off with a goal.

🥷 NINJAS
An absolutely tremendous performance from the kids today.
The passing between them was brilliant and everything they’ve been working on in training really clicked, even on a difficult away pitch with long grass.
Player of the Match: Toby, who contributed really well to the goals and had a great game.

🐉 DRAGONS
A brilliant team performance from the Dragons today and great to see so many smiling faces at the end.
Logan played Alfie through for the opener before Alfie went on to complete a brilliant hat-trick.
The lads defended well, continued creating chances and worked brilliantly as a team throughout.

Parents’ Player: Flemmo, who stepped up as captain and was a really solid voice at the back.
Coaches’ Player: Alfie for his hat-trick and hard work throughout the game.
Special mention to Will, whose minutes are being managed because of his knee. He played brilliantly despite having to come on and off, which isn’t easy when trying to keep up with the pace of the game.

🐺 WOLVES
What a game for the Wolves today against PlayR Pro Lions, and their first win! 🏆❤️🖤
The boys were brilliant, battling against a team a year older and physically bigger. They never backed down and gave everything from start to finish.
Players of the Match: Alex and Tommy, both fully deserved after fantastic performances 👏

🐻 BEARS
A great game from the Bears today, well done to them all 👏👏👏
Player of the Match: Leo for a superb performance, giving 100% effort, battling for every ball and putting in some great tackles.

🚀 ROCKETS
Another great effort from the Rockets today.
The boys continued to work hard on holding their positions, with the whole team tracking their players well and working for each other.
The first half just lacked a little confidence in the tackle, but they listened to the message at half-time and came out with a much-improved second-half performance.
By the final whistle, the Rockets were very much on top, with some excellent passing moves leading to some really well-worked goals.
Player of the Match: Evan, who really took the half-time message on board. He put in a huge shift, worked all the way back from striker to make tackles and help the team defensively, and topped it off with a goal. 👏

🔥 PHOENIX
Hugo Timmins was today’s Player of the Match for Phoenix after a superb defensive performance.
The coaches were unanimous in recognising his outstanding effort and contribution to the team.

🐅 TIGERS
Absolutely class from the Tigers today.
Down to just 8 players before kick-off, the whole team dealt with the challenge brilliantly. Everyone gave 110% and had to adapt to a different kind of game, with players taking on extra jobs and working hard for each other from start to finish.
The opposition coach agreed the Tigers were the better team and deserved more from the game.
Parents’ and Coaches’ Players of the Match: The whole team, with every player having to do the job of more than one person and working hard right until the end.

Player of the Match: Mason Podmore, solid in defence today with nothing getting past him from start to finish, leading by example throughout.

🦂 SCORPIONS
A game of two halves for the Scorpions today.
For the first 15 minutes they showed what a strong, resilient footballing team they can be and really took the game to the opposition.
Things became tougher as the game went on, but everyone kept working hard and kept going right to the end.
Still lots to work on, but plenty of positives to take from the game.
Parents’ Player: Harry for some really determined defending and for getting the better of a very tough attacker more often than not.
Coaches’ Player: Arthur for his hard work getting forward, tracking back and topping it off with a deserved goal.

The Eagles played well in spells today despite a tough first half.
