Whitehorse Badminton Club

Whitehorse Badminton Club Local badminton club in Swindon & Royal Wootton Bassett.

Whitehorse Badminton Club is a friendly, relaxed badminton club, with playing venues in both Royal Wooton Bassett and Swindon, in Wiltshire. For the more competitive players, a variety of men's ladies, mixed and veterans teams are spread throughout the Swindon & District League. We play on Tuesday nights (8pm-10pm) at the Lime Kiln Leisure Centre in Royal Wooton Bassett, and on a Thursday night (8pm-10pm) at St Joseph's Catholic College, Ocotal Way, Swindon. We cater for all standards of player - from the near-complete beginner to the experienced league player - and maintain an active social scene away from the court. We have a number of qualified coaches in our ranks - but we also benefit from a professional coach who runs regular sessions away from club nights, focussed on improving the playing standard of everyone. We also have a junior club run by qualified, CRB-checked, coaches from 6-8pm at Lime Kiln on Fridays, during term-time.

A win to report as the Men's B get their season off the ground with a 10-8 victory over Cirencester.

14/11/2021

A tough start for the Men's B who fall to a 15-3 defeat to a strong Cricklade B team.

Would you believe there has been 607 days since the last time I published a match report on Facebook...?

Alas, it was not to be a winning start to this new season, as a depleted Men's A went down 14-4 to Roussel.

What's this stuff for, again? It's so long since I played, it was probably in black and white, last time. But we're back...

What's this stuff for, again? It's so long since I played, it was probably in black and white, last time. But we're back! Club nights resume next Tuesday at Lime Kiln (20:00-21:30) and Thursday at St Joe's (20:15-22:15). Note that we're not currently playing on Wednesdays.

We still have to organise into bubbles of six for a while so you have to pre-book attendance and pay in advance - just like that brief period between waves 1 and 2 last year. If you were a member the last time we had an annual subscription, you should have received an email from Mel about restarting and how we proceed. If you weren't, but are reading this and thinking you might like to give it a go, ping me a message here or drop us an email at [email protected]
