Sunday saw me up to Liverpool in support role, coach, mentor and bag carrier
Michael and I started to work together a year ago to build marathon strength for Manchester back in April which he PB’d and then decided he’d like to have a go at ATHX 👀
Only he decided to do it solo and enter the Individuals rather than pairs 😳
6 months of solid graft following his new program took him from struggling on 7.5kg thrusters to banging up 2x20kg for quality reps to pass the standard for the Games
We also had him hitting PB’s for squats and strict press on game day and flying during the Endurance section
All in all I’d say a very successful prep and comp!! 😂

Probably the hardest and most challenging build up to a Championship we’ve ever had, but when you trust the process, follow the plan and have good people around you it all comes together when it’s supposed to 👌🏽

Well done on completing the 2025 military Nijmegen marches
4 days of marching 40km a day 🥵
Distance training paid off, now back to strength training - no rest for the wicked 😂
What is the Nijmegen march?
The Nijmegen Marches, officially known as the International Four Days Marches Nijmegen, is the world’s largest multi-day walking event held annually in the Netherlands since 1909.
• Participants: Over 45,000 walkers from 70+ countries
• Distance: 30km, 40km, or 50km per day for 4 days (120–200km total)
• Military: Around 6,000 military personnel march in uniform with weighted packs
• Spectators: Over 1 million people line the routes throughout the week

3 events, 3 podiums! What a hat trick 🥳
Client Mel Garland absolutely smashed the World Championships in Florida 🇺🇸 over the last few days

Prep went very well even with the British Champs being so close beforehand and every single strength and conditioning training session we did together paid dividends
