From first conversation to finished facility.

Back in October 2023, Inkberrow Cricket Club got in touch to discuss new practice nets for the club.

Like many grassroots cricket projects, it took time, planning, fundraising, approvals, and commitment from a lot of people behind the scenes.

Now the result is in place.

Radford Ezy Net was appointed to build a new 30m x 7.8m fully enclosed cricket practice facility, and work began on 23 March.

The finished system includes:

• 155mm compacted stone foundation
• Underlay and high-quality cricket carpet
• Treated timber perimeter structure
• Fully UV-treated netting for long-term durability
• A safe, enclosed training space for players of all ages and abilities

This is more than a new set of nets.

It gives Inkberrow Cricket Club a professional, versatile practice environment that can support junior players, senior players, coaching sessions, and club development for years to come.

Back in 2012, we installed five 25m outdoor artificial cricket lanes at Heathcote Cricket Club in Tiverton - complete with retractable and demountable netting.

Fast forward to this summer, and we were delighted to be asked back to give the whole facility a refresh: five 12m batting ends and five 13m stud-proof bowling ends, fully replaced.

🔧 The new bowling ends use 40mm artificial carpet, infilled with kiln-dried sand and rubber crumb - giving bowlers a more comfortable surface underfoot and, crucially, the grip to land confidently in full studs without fear of slipping.

🪵 As always, everything's secured to treated timber frames. After 14 years of hard use, the original timber had done its job and needed replacing - so out with the old, in with new treated frames before the fresh surfaces went down.

There's nothing quite like returning to a project over a decade on and seeing it's stood the test of time. Thank you to Heathcote Cricket Club for trusting us again - we look forward to supporting the club for many more seasons to come.

In June 2025, Cobham School were exploring the idea of new indoor cricket facilities, helped by their strong relationship with Kent CCC.

After a site visit, a detailed presentation, and a clear proposal, Radford EZY Net™ were chosen to deliver the project.

The result?

A high-quality indoor cricket training environment designed for:

• Year-round practice
• Safer, structured coaching sessions
• Flexible use within a busy sports hall
• Pupils and visiting players
