Look dominant in every exchange πŸ”₯

Following on from our initial technique (see previous video) after controlling distance and scoring we then layered on nullifying our partners counter by utilising our teep.

After scoring a kick your opponent knows they need to score back, so when we are back to our base using a teep to stop them/ off balance them will help you be dominant in the exchange

In class we focused on scoring and coming back to a solid stance before throwing the teep, rather than rushing and making it messy.

From there we started to use faints as we got them nervous of the teep to win the following exchanges you’ll see this in a following video πŸ”₯

Fix your front teep!

Here rich goes through an analogy he likes to use when teaching and correcting students lead teep

Often beginners think about delivering every technique with power and speed but forget about the return position so they are always ready to defend/attack after throwing the technique

Practising this way ensures you maintain balance and are always ready for the next attack or ready to defend your opponents attack

Try this next time you are on the bag or pads and you will start to level up!

Struggle to block low kicks?

We got you.

When blocking we want the toes turned out slightly to 10 o clock ⏰, and want to aim to block with the blade of the shin!

We don’t want to try and meet the kick but we also don’t want a slack leg we want to be strong in our position and block strong so they don’t want to throw that low kick again!

2 of our strongest fighters out today in Wolverhampton

was up first after a lot of changing of opponents unsure if he was going to get a fight at all he managed to get an opponent from our friends gym combat warriors, Josh did a good performance against a strong opponent and came away with a decision win! Loads of positives and also things to take away to work on ready for his next bout in 5 weeks time! Congratulations Josh!

Next up we had .wxll against a skilled opponent Leon started brilliantly showing his technical ability landing numerous head kicks and doing what he wanted. Unfortunately Leon got caught with body shot, but made the count and did brilliantly to tie his opponent up and shows incredible heart but was caught with a knee and stopped in the second round. Leon will be back even stronger

We’re incredibly proud of both of these lads who are in the gym all the time and are still at the beginning of their careers!! Thanks to all those who came to support the lads

Using a resistance band around the bag + neck to simulate an opponent’s control β€” building strength, positioning, and muscle memory every rep. Pull to create openings for elbows, swim inside for dominant grips, and stay balanced under pressure.
