Martin Brown, the worldwide director of Global Protection Systems is being given an award for intervening in a violent, armed event when seeing a police officer in difficult circumstances.
He may write the self defence material for Martial Arts Illustrated, and be the Director of Global Protection Systems - but he also does the very things he talks about, advises on and writes about!

Many of you know that our very own Mark Miller was the Disaster Preparedness Advisor for the White House.
He also worked with the Capitol Police and Supreme Court, and formed the ALERT (Advanced Law Enforcement Response Team) prior to 9/11 with Ed Bailor.
Mark trained and equipped the team to respond to attacks on members of Congress. He worked with the Dignitary Protection Division that was involved with stopping the attack two days ago, and the bomb squad that responded to The Anthrax attacks after 9/11.
The bomb squad used the training and equipment Mark provided to them during the Anthrax attack, and no one was hurt. Without a doubt they are heroes performing a difficult job 24/7.
In Mark's words: "I'm so proud of the way that the Officers put their lives on the line to stop the assault yesterday but I'm not surprised."

Global Protection Systems were at the UK Martial Arts Show last weekend. Our 3 seminars were PACKED out, and we actually couldn't get any more people on to the mats!
The weekend culminated with three of the UK team being inducted into the Hall of Fame, with Martin Brown (worldwide Director) taking the main award for Self Defence in the UK. Paul Severn and Peter Mogridge were also inducted in a fantastic night to remember.
