Strange fixture as we play Rawmarsh again in the league but after a positive result in the last game we go into this one full of confidence.

AFC langold 21-1 Rawmarsh

Sorry forgot the photo's but what a game and surprise normally it's us on the end of these results but training and the lads keeping themselves fit gave us a massive improvement and some good additions to the team.

We had a good few subs for this one and from the off langold were on the front foot and it wasn't long before russ bird start the scoring..but good pressure from langold were creating chance after chance and for a change the strikers were taking them.

We get to ht and its 9-0 with russ and brandon hooley bagging hatrick before the break.

Second half starts the same with russ and brandon getting another 3 each it was time for some subs and a swap around.

Stevie barsley comes on and bags a hatrick and others chipping in with goals made for a crazy first game of the season.

Credit to Rawmarsh who managed a goal from the spot after a rash challenge from jimmy ward and they kept going to the end.

Motm was a tough one but it went to russ bird for his goals assists and all round general play ...not bad for 46 russ

Well done lads.

We play Rawmarsh again next week at theirs

Lads are ready to go.. everyone looking forward pulling that afc shirt back on with a few new additions.

afc 3-3 chaucer athletic

massive turn out for this one with 6 subs and players coming to watch.
both teams started ok on this warm morning until langold were caught out at the far post 1-0 chaucer.
with chaucer having the majority of the ball it was Oliver Billau with a speculative shot which found the back of the net for 1-1.
that did`nt put chaucer off having more and better of the play but only really creating half chances until a mistake from langold gave the opposition a chance for 2-1 which they took and langold were all over then with chaucer getting another and looking in control going into ht 1-3.

so ht a little chat a few subs and away we go it wasn't long before langold were up to speed wiht pressure from all over the pitch after some nice build up play a shot came in which was blocked and russ bird was there for the rebound for 2-3

with langolds subs bringing life into the game and chaucer slowing down in the heat and only having one sub mistakes were being made by chaucer and
as the game went on langold looked more fresher with a couple more subs and some nice play langold were creating chance after chance with another shot coming in and a good save from the keeper russ was there again to fire into the roof of the net for 3-3.

with 10 minutes left thre introduction of Gareth Douglas up top saw him have some great chances to win the game for langold but we ended up fetching the ball out of the d**e from over the hedge and one even hit a passing bus but 3-3 it ended and everyone was happy.

Afc langold 5-1 afc inning

Plenty of subs for both sidesand langold started well with a couple of early chances but ryan Goulding not able to take one on his return.
But it was afc innings who opened the scoring with a long ball into the box and met by there defender fir a nice header for 1-0.

But only a few minutes later a cross from Oliver Billau was met by Leon Smith for the equaliser which led to a bit of confidence by langold.
Another break foen thr left led to a cross from oliver again but this time was met by callum hooley for his first of the morning and 2-1.

Plenty of chances hitting the post and fine saves from the innings keeper but at ht its 2-1.

Shortly after the break callum finds himself on the end of a Goulding pass and fires it into the back of the net for 3-1.

The introduction of a couple of subs in Taylor Dennis and russ bird got the team on top again and Goulding finding callum again and another good finish and a hatrick on only his 3rd game for the club but he wasn't done there as he got on the ball outside the box taking on 2 or 3 innings defenders and rounding the keeper for a simple tap in and a massive impact on the team.

Innings went down to 10 men after a questionable decision but the game ended 5-1 and a positive performance .

Some cracking performances from aiden kehoe leon smith and motm Jonathan Tyldesley helped langold get their second win on the bounce.
