After yesterdays bouts unfortunately neither Harley or Harry managed to come away with the win..
Harley has been nursing a hand injury for the last 3 months so we have had to be careful with his training which has been sporadic at best.. Along with a lack of sparring, it finally caught up with him yesterday in the finals in Tenterden, where his timing and sharpness wasn’t at the level where it usually is and fair play to his opponent for his deserved win…
Harry was in Eastbourne and was very unlucky in our opinion to come away with the loss.. Hopefully we can get a rematch sharpish.. This is both boys first loss so they will learn from it and come back more experienced and stronger for it.. On to the next one 🥊🥊

Last night we had 4 boys out on the DISE college show…
-Starting out with Paul ‘Milky’ White. Milky kept to the game plan, shortened the range and got stuck in against a much taller rangey opponent, getting a unanimous decision…
-Next up was Dan Todd looking to showcase his impressive progression against a decent promising lad from moulscombe. Dan still didn’t box as he can but he got the win and on we go..
-Aaron Rees Luker was up next looking to get his first win against an ockley abc lad. Aaron is one of the most promising boxers in the gym if he applies himself, and last night he did just that. Creating angles with a high intensity work rate he got the unanimous win..
- Last up we Josh Walker headlining the show. Boxing against a very good strong Guildford boy. The other lad came on strong in the last round and got the decision with the bout receiving bout of the night so no complaints from us..
On to the next one ☝️

Saturday night we had 4 lads out on the Smokey’s show in Essex.
First up little Harley with another top performance and a 2nd round stoppage taking him to 3 wins out of 3.
Next up was Paul white or Milky as everyone knows him! Milky went in for his first bout & although he lost, he put in a tough performance losing on points… and we now know what we have to work on. It’s all a learning experience!
Following that we had Dan Todd who had been feeling under the weather all week and admittedly didn’t box his best. However when u still get a unanimous decision and look comfortable when ur not firing on all cylinders then that’s a great achievement…
Last up we had Georgey Horstead who hasn’t had the best of luck in his return to the amateurs and tonight was no different.. a clash of heads and a nasty cut in the first minute signalled the doctor to stop the contest, which meant it went to the scorecards after only 1 minute of boxing. leading to George losing on a split decision which was extremely harsh… luckily he’s experienced enough to crack on and we ll all go again…
Next Sunday Harleys out again in Bracknell🥊

Today we had Mason Barton out on the Crawley show… He boxed brilliantly and after 2 standing 8’s the ref had seen enough for Mase to get the stoppage in the second round… on to the next one 🥊🥊

So last night we had Josh Walker out for his second fight on a a cracking dinner show at Foley ABC against one of the home boys which is always a tough ask… The other kid was really strong and well schooled. .. after round one we went to plan B and a slight change of tactics which we were getting some more success from. Just not quite enough to get the decision… Josh will learn a lot more from this loss against a real tough kid rather than an easier bout just for the ‘W’. He came away unscathed and did us all proud… (Just needs a bit more of a tan) 🥊🥊

Last night we had 4 lads out on the very well organised Eastbourne show..
First up Sami Behrer who had his first skills bout. Sami boxed lovely with an evenly matched taller lad, with lots of good head movement to close the range, Sami showed he’s ready to get going with a full bout next..
Next up Aaron Price, Az boxed a decent home boy. He boxed to instruction and really kept things tidy with controlled aggression.. It was a great bout and a massive improvement on his first fight which no one knew at the end which way it would go but unfortunately losing on a split decision.
Next up big heavyweight Stan.. Stans the most placid boy in the gym but something changes on fight night… Patient to begin with working his jab, when the power was felt by his opponent, with some devastating combinations, he sensed blood and this led to his opponents corner throwing the towel in towards the end of round 1 after taking some real heavy artillery..
Last up was big long Harry… Harry’s first bout a few weeks ago was very messy and nerves got the better of him even though he got the result… This time round he was a different animal… Held his feet, aggression.. lovely straight shots. Nice and composed on the back foot… A lovely performance leading to a third round stoppage…
We go again 🥊🥊

So last night we had the Barton boys out on the Ockley show.
Little Harley was up first against a tough lad from Chichester who didn’t stop coming forward the whole fight…After a tight first round, Harley started picking his punches and his timing was spot on for the next 2 leading to him getting the decision.
Next up was Mason, who boxed to plan against an opponent who came down from London looking for the win. All 3 rounds were tight with Mason landing the more eye catching shots.. just maybe taking the odd shot on the counter. His opponent came on strong last half of the last round which led to him getting the decision on a split… Mase will take a lot from the bout and we are learning all the time… well done both boys you are a credit to the club… We go again..🥊🥊
After the dust has settled after a fantastic show in Horsham… we can reflect on the nights work..
First up we had Dan who boxed a phenomenal first round, keeping his opponent at the end of his straight shots. It turned into more of a dogfight in the subsequent rounds, with Dan’s opponent getting a standing 8 count. Both lads left it all in the ring, with Dan’s opponent winning on a close split decision.
Next we had Harry. He is used to usually boxing at range, utilising his long levers, but his opponent closed off the distance and made it a very difficult fight for Harry. This left everyone on the edge of their seats with some big shots being exchanged. Harry won on a split decision.
Third Worthing lad boxing was Aaron. This was the best we have seen Aaron box and it was great to see the hard work in the gym being put together in the ring. Aaron’s opponent had a point deducted in the second round, but still managed to get the nod in a split decision. We would love to see this rematched as both lads gave their all.
Last but not least we had big Stan who boxed to instruction, working his opponent out in the first part of the round and then landing some big shots, resulting in the referee stopping the bout after consulting with the doctor after his opponent got a cut above his nose. It was a strong performance and looking forward to seeing him progress.
Well done to all the boxers last night 🥊🥊🥊
