And they’re off! First dive of 2026 done and dusted – a drift dive at Kingsmere Rocks, organised by club member Will.
The visibility wasn’t great, but by all accounts it was the perfect dive to blow off the cobwebs and get kit checked over. Also they ticked off some skills for two of the Sports Divers, along with some boat driving practice.
Next up: The Shirala on Friday 10th April, led by David Heffernan. Open to members and qualified guests. Get in touch, we would love to meet you and show you what diving in the UK is all about.

Have you ever considered trying scuba diving? Last night we held our first Try Dives of the year at Splashpoint in Worthing, and it was a fantastic start.
Six people signed up — the maximum number for a session — to experience what it’s really like to dive. Guided by our experienced instructors, participants were taken through every step of the process, from getting fully kitted out to learning the basic skills needed underwater.
A great introduction to the world of scuba diving! Would you like to drive diving? Contact Roger at [email protected]

New Year, new start and what could be more important that how to help your fellow diver at a time of crisis. Last night at the club house we learnt about BLS-Basic Life Support-and how and when to apply it. Great night and thank you to our amazing instructors who give of their time and knowledge freely.

Great dive on the Indianna wreck yesterday evening by 9 of Worthing BSAC members. So many fish were down there-just like being in an aquarium. Great visibility-around 5-6m . Some of the rest of the club members were diving the War Helmet at 30m so plenty of diving for all club members.
Here’s a video of a previous trip visit to the Indianna. Credit Dave Burman.

The rib did not let us down and great driving by Roger. No plankton bloom in sight and we managed to catch sight of two pods of dolphins ( sorry no photos)
The first rib based dive of the season-here’s to a great summer.
Come along and join us. Open to all grades of divers from beginners to advanced. At £25 a dive it’s a bargain.

A great night at the Worthing BSAC club AGM last night. An impressive turnout and speakers. The club has great plans for 2025 so it was important to hear from Roger -Chairman who introduced the evening and Russ F-Treasurer about the plans for the finances of the club and the strategy.
Dave W - our diving officer gave a recap about all the dives the club had completed on our 8m rib moored at LA and all the plans and expeditions that are happening in 2025.
Russ T - spoke about the long list of training that is open to all club members most of which is free. Everything from Ocean Diver courses, to boat handling, equipment training and wreck appreciation courses.
Next was Bruce to talk all things welfare followed by Lisa who talked about social media and the importance of showing people through video and photos how great UK diving is.
At the end of the evening a raft of ‘fun’ awards were given out and Tracey Anne graciously accepted one of them as Seasick Hero.
As January is drawing to an end, its starting to look alot like diving season is upon us!
