Sunday afternoon- Ken and Denise Staton organised a fun afternoon- The Buttered Bun Bash. 24 bowlers signed up for 8 teams , who competed in 4 bowls challenges- such as bowling to 2 jacks and closest to a jack in the ditch. Much fun and laughs and we all took the competition seriously. Ken and Denise provided the food, Eric Jackson donated sausages and rolls and we raised around £200 for the Kent and Sussex air ambulance. Charles Lindsell Dave Jones and Chris Matthews won the competition despite not having a clue for the most part of what was going on. Thanks to everyone who took part and donated time and money and organizational skills to make the event successful.

Our last WSBL game of 2026 today against Aldingbourne at home. Our first game of the season was against them- away and an 8-0 loss.We got our revenge today with a 7-1 victory- unfortunately not quite enough to win the league, but we finished a very good second, 2 points behind Aldingbourne. Thanks to everyone who played and supported us at home and away, and special thanks to Russ Hallett and Erica Cable who put on a fantastic after game spread every home fixture. No club is sure yet about promotion and relegation- it's dependant on who puts their name down for 2027. Fingers crossed!

A bit of an odd game today against Maltravers in the Brodie. A 10.00 start and after 2 and a half hours we fought our way to a draw. 5-5 and 67-67. Maybe extra time in bed rather than a bowls match would have been better.Probably yesterday's heat didn't do us any good. Russ Jennings won top rink with a score of 27-10, helped by Jeff Ellison and Mick o Mahoney.

Top rink was skipped by Chris Matthews with Syd Foster Ken Staton and Steve Murphy coming out 23-13 on top. Well done guys!

A Brodie game at home to Pavilion this afternoon. Yet again a slow start on most rinks- For some strange reason 13 is the magic end and we start playing and the opposition stopped. We won on three rinks, only losing by a couple of points in the pairs. A great result at 8-2 and an aggregate win, of 72-62 putting us second in the Brodie table. Eric Jackson got top rink with Steve Hunt Adrian Laycock and Derek Monk.
