We have been given until 17th June to leave the premises by the courts, yet instead of allowing an orderly exit, yesterday our landlord chose to padlock the gate and fully restrict our access to remove our equipment even though our rent is fully paid. He says he wants us out but does things like this 🤯
We already have limited access, to remove a full commercial gym around a 1 meter wide fire escape route and this is just making the process 10000% more difficult 🙃

We’ve stayed quiet for a long time, but with so many accusations now being made publicly by our landlord, we feel we need to say something.
For almost 4 years our small family-run gym has been under huge stress through ongoing legal battles, loss of parking, restricted access and constant uncertainty.
Before all of this began, we had over 300 members and an amazing gym community. Since then, through constant issues from the landlord, membership has dropped to less than half of that.
Many long-term members will remember when we had full access around the building, including the rear yard for classes and sufficient parking. Over time this access has gradually been taken away, including a steel fence being erected directly behind our roller shutter door, making it impossible to move equipment in and out of the gym. From once being allowed the full car park, to some days not being left a single space.
We are now expected to fully vacate the unit while somehow removing an entire commercial gym through extremely limited access. When we first moved into the unit there was no fence behind the building and we had full rear access for forklifts and deliveries, because realistically, that is how commercial gym equipment is moved. You are not moving hundreds of tonnes of machines, weights and cardio equipment any other way.
We have dealt with countless visits from the council, health & safety and various other authorities over the years, all following complaints and allegations made against us, yet nothing was ever found that justified the level of pressure put on our gym.
In January 2024, bailiffs were sent to the gym over ALLEGED rent arrears of £17,000. The Judge found this action to be unlawful and there was NO rent arrears and acknowledged it would have had a detrimental impact on our small business. We have paid rent every single month since opening the gym.
That situation nearly destroyed everything we had built. We were told we had to find the money that same day or the gym would close. As a small family-run business, we simply didn’t have that kind of money sitting there and were forced to borrow money just to keep the doors open.
It put jobs at risk, caused huge financial and emotional stress on our family and nearly left our members without the gym community they had supported for years.
Despite everything, we are still doing our best to handle this professionally and respectfully. We simply ask people to remember there are always two sides to every story.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us through one of the hardest periods our business has ever faced ❤️

❗️TEMPORARY UPDATE ❗️
From May 1st, day passes and week passes will be temporarily paused as we settle into the temporary RFC unit.
This is simply to help us manage capacity and keep the atmosphere right for our members.
We’ll update everyone when passes return.
Thanks for the support 👊
